Introduction

The Whip is an offensive structure built by the Alien Commander. It is the only Kharaa structure capable of movement, by uprooting itself from infestation and waddling along the ground. When rooted, the Whip can lash out at Marines within range using its long tentacle. Once matured, the Whip is capable of Bombard, a passive ability which lobs an acid sac to deal damage to Marine armor and Frontiersmen structures.

The Whip is available at all times regardless of the number of Hives, unlike the Crag, Shade, Shift, Shell, Veil ,and Spur which require their own respective type of Hive to unlock.

Abilities

• Whack
  • Description: The Whip can whack nearby grenades away, often back to the sender.

• Lash
  • Function: Inflicts damage on all enemy players and structures within area of effect; Lash does double damage on structures.
  • Damage: 50
  • Damage Type: Structural
  • Fire Delay: 2
  • Range: 6
  • Description: A passive ability that attacks all nearby marines and enemy structures. More than one target can be damaged at the same time. The Alien Commander can also manually pick a target to attack if multiple targets are in range.

• Bombard
  • Function: Inflicts splash damage on targeted structure within area of effect; Bombard deals Light damage (half to armor) and affect structures only.
  • Damage: 1200
  • Damage Type: Unknown
  • Range: 20
  • Splash Radius: 8
  • Description: A passive ability that lobs a ball of acidic goo at a target, dealing splash damage to structures. Bombard is unlocked after Evolve Bombard upgrade.

• Uproot
  • Description: An ability that allows the whip to move from one point to another. Whips move faster on infestation.

  • Prerequisite: Mature Whip
  • Description: Enables Bombard ability on Mature Whip.
