MediaWiki talk:Spam-blacklist
From NS2 community wiki
I'm really tempted to just put a big old "*" in here for the time being and just use the whitelist for UWE, youtube, and whatever other links we might use. This wiki doesn't use a lot of legitimate external links. Objections? Quovatis 05:17, 24 May 2011 (UTC)
- 99% of the links in here are probably either internal or link to the forums and other UWE sites AFAIK (moddb/indiedb?). I did use dl.dropbox to host the ns2_sample map and I've been using my ISP for the map layout example (been using my ISP for a few other things on the forums as well). Oh and my wiki user page has 4 outgoing links (wikipedia/filefront/moddb/my site, might want to check out a few of the active guys on here to see where they link Kouji San 21:10, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
- Well, this wouldn't affect existing links, just newly created ones. The blacklist is filtering out a lot of the spam for now with what's in place now. A little more tweaking and I think it will be ok without the (admittedly knee-jerk reaction of a) total lockdown. The spammer likes to use college/university user pages for spam, and so I disabled linking to any .edu site. This alone cuts the spam in half. I'll keep tweaking this list, but if you ever find yourself with a blacklisted link, just post here and I'll fix it. Quovatis 21:54, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
Can unknownworldsstats.appspot.com be added to the white list? It's the link to the UWE stats/output ScardyBob

i've been trying to add references for my Marine page background with pages from the ns2 wiki at 3-pg website. Can 3-pg.com be white listed? --Heroman117 03:06, 10 February 2012 (UTC)
Can we add docs.google.com to the whitelist too? I want to post the link to the Design Document on the Design Direction page. ScardyBob
