Damage types

In NS2, every weapon or attack is given a damage type. Damage types give weapons more defined roles.
List of Damage Types
- Normal
- Every armor point of the target will absorb 2 points of damage
- Includes: Assault Rifle, Bite, Parasite, Spit, Hydra Spike, MAC Damage, Drifter Damage
- Light
- Every armor point of the target will absorb 4 points of damage
- Includes: Shotgun, Pistol, Mine, Sentry, Heal Spray, Lerk Spike
- Heavy
- Every armor point of the target will absorb 1 point of damage
- Includes: None
- Puncture
- Structural
- Does 100% extra damage to structures
- Includes: Switch-Axe, Grenade Launcher Attachment, Lash
- Gas
- Only damages player health
- Includes: Spores
- Structures Only
- Only damages structures
- Includes: ARC Damage
- Flame
- Sets the target on fire upon successful hit
- Includes: Flamethrower
- Corrode
- Door
