Full Version: Advertising on Social Sites
Unknown Worlds Forums > Natural Selection 2 > NS2 E-Team

Hey. Before I begin I'd like to say that I don't know if this has been suggested yet (probably has) but I haven't seen a forum topic on it so I'm going to start one for the hell of it.

Getting straight to the point, while reading another thread on the forums, I thought that we should advertise on online social networks like Facebook or Myspace. These sites have millions (billions maybe?) of users logging in everyday, so it's probably one of the fastest and most effective ways to advertise. I was thinking of some pre-made banner that users can easily place on their profile, very similar to the Forum Signatures idea. It could link to existing profiles (like the current Natural Selection 2 MySpace profile) or to the Unknown Worlds Site itself.

This would be a virtual form of "the word of mouth", except sped up exponentially. A chain effect will probably happen (a gamer will stumble upon the banner [through a friends profile or search feature], play the game, like the game, put the banner on their profile, rinse and repeat) which can only be positive for the game. But best of all, it wont cost a dime for the dev team or the players alike! smile-fix.gif

Tell me what you think biggrin-fix.gif.

This is a relaly good idea, and since it is free, if anyone gets any benefit from it it is worth it. If you guys want to start working on some small banners I could use the pics you guys post to create some copy and paste code!@

This is a good idea, I'm sure the vast majority of players have one of either sites. If a facebook group is created )or already exists?) I'd definitely join.

I'd do it, you could form a group on facebook as well and use the blogs on myspace and alot of different things. Great idea asrifle.gif

On StudiVZ (German Facebook Clone [they even stole the error messages, etc haha]) there already is a NatSel group (with about 80 members^^).
It surprises me that there is no such thing on Facebook yet.
