So I figured hey I am running around spraying some random naked chick, or the worlds pwned, or god for bid a tent with a NO symbol Thur it.

I am sure there are a couple of thousand other NS players running around out there in other such steam games, ###### even the dumbest noob can make a half life one spray in paint.

So I figured a 256 canvas in a 32 bit targa format. One fade eye plus some 3D text with a phong E and some special glow set to about 0.800, in Maya and away we go, some good production quality render, and a splash of photo shop tweaking and she should be done.

Lets all start running around with a locked and loaded tasteful spray in our favorite game spreading the word.

I made a few some for the 184 steam id's as well how ever my deviant art is BEING A ######. so you cant see them.. for now.

eh ya get two

a croped image of the artist sheena's 3d work of a very bustie nancy

and some of my flavor and tweaking

Ill add some more latter but get to it guys make ya bloody own.

*note I would just like to thank the original artists of the fade eye and nancy.

Excellent! Which folder do place this in to use it as my spray?

i belive under multiplayer options you upload the spray, so place them any where you can find them, but today i have been haveing a vrx.dll download issue stating i should restart and update steam to fix this issue but its not working : (

And who says ingame advertising doesn't work? tounge.gif

Also, the ingame spraypaint is the best invention since sliced bread! HL+HL2 power!

If you're trying it with TF2, I don't believe they've added it in yet. There is a workaround in the steam forums though.

Yeah.. thats odd tho cos I seen custom prays for the first few days, then after that last update which was early mourning for me, yeah no more sprays.

Hum what have I seen in tf2 custom sprays is nude females, a sports car looked like a shot from nfs carbon, a boom head shot refrance, and i belive there was a dont taz me bro slogan in their which would put that spray in game about 6 hours after it happened. so he had ether been playing for ages with it or was a little slow on the up take.

still yet to see a naked vanessa huds spray.

i might have a look for that work around, it would be nice to capture all the beta testers trialing the game off a mates comp to see if they want to buy it

i dont know kids with spray cans are a deadly mix. you still think they are great kouji_san

Yeah well it's the only game to incorporate spraypaints. Some funny stuff can be done with them as well like in NS the egg on wall type of thing... Something about eggs makes marines go nuts and they become nice targets, to bad they did eventually catch on tounge.gif

But using them for marketing other then clans, quite an intreging idea and it will get the word out to the best targetgroup there is. Quickly at that if we play popular hl2 mods. TF2, CS:S, DOD:S (with it's idiotic MG42 recoil XD)

Oh yeah its going to work great, I just meant compared to the normal immature blah out there, most of its just crap, but some solid spray advertisement could actually appeal to mass of gamers already out their, it sort of reminds me of battle field 2142, they have in game bill boards and shipping creates and a few other ways of real world advertisement, basically they patch a new image on said bill board or advertisement a new texture for X window of the month or said period of time, some of you may of noticed "The Bourne Ultimatum" billboards of recent.

Just a note ill probably point NS2 I&S to here as well, renting out a crate, or a shipping container skin/UV map to CCA Coke Cola Amatil per month would serious pay the electric bill.

If i had my money any were it would be in game marketing and advertisement, cos honestly its getting pretty close to hitting more viewers for longer than TV adds do.

forget paying a couple of million for a 30 second super ball add. starcraft 2, 2009 championship, get your beer adds printed on the side of a siege tank.

someone who has never played ns1/heard of ns2 will have no idea what those sprays mean :/
