Any word on the post-release Steam activation? I'm waiting on confirmation of that before I preorder.

Nope, we haven't been able to get confirmation from Valve as to whether NS2 pre-orders will translate to copies of the NS2 on Steam. I don't think they're going to commit to this until they see a really good beta.

Have no idea what overgrowth is, but it looks compelling, and I now own it for free! Win-win! Keep up the great work.

Is overgrowth only available to people with Special Edition keys or is it available to everyone who has pre-ordered?

Did a little testing in Overgrowth and it seems to be a stick figure fighting game where you can place and build objects. Just from a quick load and running around for 5 min. after downloading it. Looks like it will eventually have art and textures of course. I looked on their wiki and this is a quick description of the game.
QUOTE Overgrowth takes place in the savage world of Lugaru where rabbits, wolves and other animals are forced to use paws, claws and medieval weaponry to engage each other in battle. Combining 3rd person adventure platforming with intricate melee combat, Overgrowth achieves a unique feel.
Overgrowth also benefits from Wolfire's brand new Phoenix Engine which has been built from the ground up to allow the use of cutting edge graphics, animation, and physics. Add to these exciting features Overgrowth’s realistic artificial intelligence and streamlined control system and the result is an astoundingly immersive experience. Awesome! Awesome to the Max!
Never heard of Overgrowth before so I'm really excited to check it out. Especially if there is going to be a Linux version. This is going to be sweet! -------------------- QUOTE (BobTheJanitor. QUOTE If you've already purchased NS2...you are awesome! You will still get a free copy of Overgrowth as well love you guys (platonic :P), no serious phew, i realy think the first 1 minute you are kidding your old fans which buy the pre-order on the same day you offered. Great work, i wait a long long time for ns2 and i am very surprised to see how Overgrowth will be. greetings -------------------- |

I'm trying to use my Standard Edition NS2 key and it doesn't appear to work. Is this a glitch or is the "get Overgrowth free" deal only valid for Special Edition pre-orders?

Did a little testing in Overgrowth and it seems to be a stick figure fighting game where you can place and build objects. A ninja rabbit fighting game. What you can download now is literally in-development builds, so about as bare-bones as it gets. Have yet to try it myself, which brings me to... Thanks for the late Christmas, guys! |
