This week we discuss shipping Decoda, the Spanish inquisition, our newly-formed E-Team and a new tool called Jackhammer.
Let us know what you think!
We've released the NS2 "about" page which lists the back-of-the-box features for NS2. Some of it you already know, some of it is new. For those on the NS2 E-Team, these bullet-points are the key concepts we want to get across to people who don't know about the game.
We can't say that this feature list won't change but it should be high-level enough to serve as a guiding light for us through development, just as the original NS1 "about" page did for Natural Selection.
Maybe we should write a story to help visualize the theme and feel as well?
Another week, another podcast. This time Max and I chatter about this week's xfire chat, the first week of the NS2TR private alpha, the new NS community wiki, moving Decoda to the 360 and...Spain?
You guys asked for it...so the NS community wiki is now online and ready for editing. Use it to get the manual up to date, to help new players learn the game, create strategy guides or whatever else you think makes sense there.
Be sure to follow the community guidelines when posting to it and note that you do have to create a wiki account to edit (create an account with the same name as your UW handle).
Let's keep it clean and professional so we can keep it open. Now get editing, soldiers!
As part of the "Careers in Gaming" event going at Xfire this week, Charlie are contributing a blog detailing a typical day for us at Unknown Worlds. You can read the first few parts now, and as the day progresses more parts will be posted.
You won't find too much in the blog about Natural Selection 2, but there's plenty of details on programming and running an independent game company.
Charlie and I will also be answering questions at the live chat happening later today.
In our second Friday audio update, we discuss this week's progress in investment, the NS2TR private beta and the imminent release of Decoda.
Hope you enjoy it and let us know what you think.
Unknown Worlds Entertainment is participating in a game development chat hosted by Xfire on September 10th at 3PM PDT. Charlie and Max -- along with other industry professionals -- will field questions from Xfire users in this live event, covering the game industry, development, careers and current projects.
You can find out all of the details and sign up to participate at Xfire's website.
