If you can read this, you've made it to the new Natural Selection website. It may not look a lot different, but we have new forums and a new provider, so everything should run much faster. You'll have to recreate your account on the forums, but if you ask nicely, MonsieurEvil or Flayra will restore your post count to your old count on the previous forums. The old forums will be made read-only and in the near future, we will bring over all the old messages to the new forums as well, so the NS history that was made there will never be forgotten. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask our forum moderators, Moleculor and Spyder-Monkey.
If you see any broken links or other strange occurrences, there's no need to report them yet. There could be a few problems as everything is propagated over, but if you still see errors after a few days, feel free to let us know. Enjoy the faster and more full-featured forums!
With the new year comes many changes. First of all, the commander mode technology is being reworked a bit for better performance and to facilitate map contruction. Soon after that's done, the next version of the mapper's technology release (the "NSTR2") will become available for download.
In other news, tonight is the first night everyone will be able to see what the aliens look like. It's been a long time coming, but the team is quite happy with these designs. Check the Ready Room tonight and throughout this week for a glimpse.
We are still in need of talented animator, especially someone experienced in the areas of animal animation and non-bipedal animation. If you or someone you know is a great animator and is interested in all things alien, let us know.
Lastly, Natural Selection is in the February 2002 issue of PC Gamer, which has covered the mod expo last month. This is the first paper coverage of NS, let's hope to see more of it.
