Natural Selection

NS Community Newsletter #1
October 17, 2007

Hello everyone,

Welcome to the first NS Community Newsletter. We're going to try publishing this monthly to keep you updated on what's happening with Natural Selection and Natural Selection 2.

Got some information about NS that the community should really know about? Add it yourself to the NS Wiki (http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns/wiki).

Have you switched to a Mac since you started playing NS? NS and Steam will work under OS X! Read about it here (http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns/forums/index.php?showtopic=101762) or take a look at Ikir's desktop for proof (http://www.ikirsector.it/im/mac/steam.jpg).

Max and I continue to talk every week about the details of NS2 development in our podcasts. Check out Podcast #5 (http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/news/2007/10/fifth_podcast) where we talk about some alien ability ideas (BOOK IT MARINES) and Podcast #6 (http://www.unknownworlds.com/ns2/news/2007/10/sixth_podcast) where we discuss our friends in Bang Camaro (http://www.bangcamaro.com/), modding for NS2 and...caek (http://orange.half-life2.com/portal.html)?

Finally, if you're a game developer that uses Lua, check out Decoda (http://www.unknownworlds.com/decoda). If all goes according to plan, we'll be releasing this free with NS2, so you can make Big Game Hunters, Lerk Lift or anything else your heart desires with little effort. Max has been taking a lot of feedback from people using it so far and has been putting out new versions every week or so.

That wraps up some of this month's happenings around here. As we have more stuff to show, we will use this newsletter to make sure you don't miss NS2-related info and media we release. In the meantime, feel free to write us at charlie@unknownworlds.com or max@unknownworlds.com about anything.

See you in a month!
