Hello there... while i was browsing the web, i thought have a little look at the ns hq site ( amusing they are down since more than a year now ) i was quite happy to see that i was wrong.
Well now my question is, due to the long downtime of this site ( it was down with no community portal ), are there any new players like ns had two years before? there were thousands of new ones, it was funny to beat all of them. But i stopped playing ns on my 22th Birthday so one year ago. does ns got some new players? or are all those so 1337 haxx0rs like sub or saeppel the only skilled veterans?
is there any activity in clan play? new clans? with really new players? or old broken ones with same roster like in 4 clans before?
maybe iam writting real bullish cause iam a bit high due to my first cigarette after 2 1/2 weeks?!

The most recent pros are like.... Hickz and pantsu. Hickz has already quit and pantsu has been playing since... what- 3.0?
New players can't break into the game.

yup
besides, for example ray fn and nirg played as w*S or something summer '05 and then went on to form insane. "new" players break into the game all the time

Not true. The ANSL open division has many new teams and players who have never played competitively before. Even the vet division has players who are relatively new; I joined CAL-NS in like season 9. Anybody who wants to get involved just needs to join a team.

what is noname in your eyes? describe it... in all these international multigaming activity your clan and dozens of others are nonames, where arteria was very well known... maybe not in ns
and btw i started ns when it came out, so i know how to beat new players ... if you want some proofs for that, pm me

ANSL and ENSL, both already mentioned here, are the only remains of competitive play, and they are fledgling and teetering on death. What Underwhelmed said is correct. I'm in BiG, the (much hated) clan leading the open division, and it's been a lot of fun despite the jaded veterans' disparaging presence in the community.
There aren't many/any new players. People tend to find a server or group of servers that have the gameplay they like and stick to them, becoming regulars. After a while of playing there you start to recognize all the familiar faces (voices?), but not many new ones...
It's a good/bad thing. People learn each others' names and personalities, but it does become stagnant and lacks the vitality of a fresh, popular mod, like we all remembered NS was in around 2003-4.

NSP is still around doing the same thing as ENSL/ANSL in australia, its fairly small community struggling at the best of times but we try to keep it alive.
