Before the forums went down Theslan had just won the right to host the next TWG game. As he's not a CM, when it goes back up I'll check with him to see if he's still up for hosting TWG VIII or if we'll redo it. Hope to see everyone back here soon!

PS: I have a big TWG surprise for everyone I'll post when the forums go back fully up.

Delarosa, the best way to learn is to read through one of the games and then just try to take part in one of them yourself. I suggest looking through the first game as it's the shortest and most simple one on here.

Just to give an update on the hosting situation for the next game, I PM'd Theslan once or twice but haven't heard anything from him yet. Looking at his member profile it seems his latest post is still in August 2005. He may just be away on vacation or something of that sort however, so I'll wait until the forums publically open before actually making a new game host thread. However, just in case... if you feel up for hosting a game start thinking about it and feel free to send me an email with your game description to freak83 AT gmail.com

If Theslan comes back and still wants to host he'll get it, but otherwise it's going to be for grabs. I would suggest to anyone who wishes to host to make a fairly standard game since it's been a while since any of us have played, but if you want to make something crazy then go ahead.

Lastly, that "surprise" i mentioned in my first post should be released when the forums go back up too. There's no reason why it should end up being delayed.

Didn't we used to require at least 100 posts in order to participate in the game anyways? I don't see why we need to wait for the site to go back public, because the only thing that will change then will be that new people will be allowed to join. The site password and logon was emailed to roughtly 20 thousand people, it's hardly a secret.

The only reason for waiting would be to make sure the forum doesn't get reset again and destroy the game. However, I would say that it isn't very likely at this point, so it's probably safe to start. It seems Theslan hasn't come along, so we'll have to vote on a game host again if we do start now. I know Sky said he was interested in hosting a game, and I sent an idea to Freak83 already (though my idea won't work well with the small number of people we'll probably get ).

It literally is exactly what im lost said. Posts could potentially end up getting deleted again. It's more than less likly this isn't going to happen but it's better to be safe than sorry y'know. Anyway, by this point we've all waited so long what's another week or two really?

Are there any open spots left in the new TWG? *Edit* Oh I see, I'd definately sign up for 8 when the forums re-open I was signed up for it before it was postponed the first time and besides 7 was a blast. I certainly hope it gets enough support this time around.

On second thought, I just don't have the time to host a game right now, so im_lost can have it if no one else wants it.

Hey who made the tags for the werewolve games they still around? I like to have one for my signature, I meant to ask way back when before the forums went down, but never got around to it.

They were only made for winners and hosts IIRC... Forgive me if you were one of either of those, I haven't read through the game records in a long time.

I died right before the last day but I was a gorge and gorges won so I dont know if that counts as a win or loss. Thats probably a loss for isnt it? Oh well.

The winning conditions are being alive and on the winning team at the end of the game. Keep playing though Nurot and you'll get one for sure

According to Flayra another rollback is unlikely, and if it does happen backups would prevent a huge amount of loss. I say we might as well start drafting up the next game, get someone appointed to host and give them some time to get a story worked up, then get a roster lined up. While we likely shouldn't actually start a game until more stability can be promised there's no reason not to do most of the pregame organization now. Get everything ready to the point where as soon as the forums officially open, or at least we get word of established security, we can open up the signup thread and get things going right away the next day.

Sounds like a plan. I'm still a little hesitent on actually starting gameplay but if there is another rollback then losing a host election thread or a signup thread is no big loss. Just don't want to lose the actual gameplay one. Anyway I'll go create one for host elections now.
