Yes! Females CAN join the TSA!
This is a drawing one of my female friends did when I showed her a pic of a Heavy Armor. It may not be completely up to scale (as HA is taller than normal marines) But it still looks damn good

More like Demon Feamle HA... damn those red eyes are scary.
Still a damn good drawing though; the proportions are excellent. Can we expect a finished version sometime?

I like the anime feel to her,if we can get a modeler to make this...I may consider jumping back into NS dispite the low arse framerate I get for some reason...

Yea, thats not the finished drawing. She's working on it as we speak.

I always wondered if NS designers would put in an option for a female model possibly in NS2...hopefully, My female friends dream will be realized

Excellent. Your friend is quite the artist.
And yeah, I hope we get female models in NS:S/NS2 as well.

(<_<)
i think it looks "overstyled". you should stick to the original look, this here is kinda to "forced"...almost cheesy, and way to slim and light to even qualify as heavy armor...
it looks more like a Idol version of the light armor
i dont see the heavy armor as some kind of piece of protection clothing, its more a servo powered armored exoskeleton... you coud call it a "wearable vehicle" similar to the "jim-Suits", thick armored deep sea diving suits for the underwater work on oil rigs, and the Royal Navy is using them too. jim was basically intended for salvage work at depths of over 300 feet and the maximum depth it has reached was 1440 feet during the recovery of a TV cable off the coast of Spain in 1976.
ok..those are a bit bigger than a heavy armor, and wieght a half ton, but HA´s are in the future

sure, you could call jim a suit, but its more a submarine, with arms and legs... like the heavy armor is a very mobile walking tank.
and thats the point, when was the last time you have seen a tank for female drivers with breasts?

jim suit for males

jim suit for females

uhm sorry but she looks like she has been infected by some kind of "Kharaa Virus" which turns you around and you start to act weird and against your orders. She looks like she's gonna kill somebody in just a few secs.

@heavy
ya that's what I was hoping too! I still support this idea for NS source tho!
We've had a topic about that on the IaS forums!

hmmm...well,how old is the design for heavy armor anyway?Maybe it deserver a few modifications...and better yet, just make her an android, the first off the line combat android designed for combat useing armor just as heavy as heavy armor. The additional armor outside,is just to make her look good

(hey, were close to humanish androids now...I'm sure by the time we have spaceships that can travel deep space,we'll have androids then <_<)
The female frame was better then the male frame, because that makes her slightly more agile (hmmm...NS:S...chooseing female gives you a speed boost...and chooseing male gives you a tad more armor...)

Okay here's my input....
Yes... and no... to Female marines
Why yes? Because it adds some diversity, than a drone army.
Why no? Because even males will pick females, and stupid **** (Pardon the language but it's true) will stop fighting to see some low-poly graphics arse wiggle whilst running from an onos...

Nice drawing, her expression reminds me of Faye Valentine form Cowboy Bebop ^^
But as a new female HA. Hmm dunno, ribbons, long hair, high heels. Don't think the TSA marine regulation would differ much from our own marines in this day and time. So she would probably have short hair and the same kind of armor...

As others said, doesnt fit the bulky feel of the heavy armor. Even though some are saying that this "could be a new more advanced thingy!" According to the official NS fiction, the Heavy armor is itself an experimental prototype, so im sure if that was lucky enough to be used in the field I doubt TSA Scientists would right away go out to make sure that it looks and operates entirely different simply because a female was using it.
Of course, this IS fan-art, which isnt restricted by the NS backstory or by what should be considered "official" which seems to make the previous paragraph seem to have no real purpose.
I guess the bulk of my post is trying to say "If the NS team is gonna make female Heavy Armor, it isnt gonna look like that."
and as heskey said
| QUOTE |
| NO HEELS FOR CHRISTS SAKE. NO RIBBONS. NO CUTENESS FOR THE SAKE OF MARINE VICTORY. |
this rings true in many cases, what (not animated) sci-fi alien movies have anyone ever seen where a female protaginist that didnt end up dying actually run around with high heels and ribbons in their hair?
Heskey
Aug 4 2005, 09:41 AM
The art is amazing, but as I've grown a LOT older in my mind over the last few months I've rappidly grown out of anime and acctually grown a quite strong hatred for it because of the most unlikely things that come out of it, like the attire of the woman in that picture there.
Heavy armour that a slug could penetrate (No jokes about penetrating the drawing gents, thats wrong.), high heels and ribbons in her back-length hair.... She's in the FRONTIERSMEN right?
This isn't anime, no one is a glamour king/queen, and if they add a female model in NS, for **** sake just don't make it look like a supermodel - It's not true, and commanders will have to fight harder to get 10-15 year olds to follow orders rather than the female marine, who is just exploring the map because it's John Smith's first time at NS.
Thats right kiddies, it's just like when you're up in the wee hours of the morning typing your groans; The person you're talking to is a man.

generalizing right there holmes.
You're right, if a female player model were to be put into NS she shouldnt be a supermodel, but you dont need to make her look like a freaking bus accident either. Women in the military are athletic, just like the men, so they wouldn't be Tubby McBride. A woman in the military is not going to look like a man, they just happen to be somebody who was interested in public service.
Heskey

Owen... I know what women in the military look like...

and another thread that goes from "female marine concept" to "sense or nonsense of female soldiers in any shape".
the highhells remind me on the hardsuits in "bubblegum crisis". allways wondered how any human being with a right mind could think about it to LOOK practically.
however, I like the drawing. the madness shure reflects the psysical stress marines are exposed in the battlefield.
thats the look of the WINNING race
