NSArmslab is proud to announce our new Veteran Ranking System! As you play on the Veterans Classic server, you will get kills/points that add or subtract to your total ranking (position) on the server. Every week, the top three players on the server will be awarded special icons that no one else has. The number #1 ranked vet will also earn a free reserved slot on the rest of the NSArmslab network for that week. So if you want to win, you must play on the servers and improve your score. Good luck!
The ranking icons are as follows:
= Admin
= #1 Ranked Vet
= #2 Ranked Vet
= #3 Ranked Vet
= Veteran
These new icons, while having been on the server for a while are now going in to effect today. This system is based on a our new Psychostats system that has now been successfully recording each and every one of you now for the last month. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd ranked people will receive those icons. The group of people who have the icons will also be updated on a weekly basis.

The stats system is not ONLY kill based..but also takes into consideration things like points..so gorges are not left out

Natural Selection. You've added the plugin to the wrong game server... I believe what you're looking for is
Counter-Strike.
The last thing we needed on the Vet servers was idiots going /rank after each flipping kill.

You can disable /stats or /rank. you can't disable the stupidity on an admin.

Is there any information on how score is taken into account? How much would commanding increase your rank? A commander can easily have twice the score of everybody else on his team. Does the value for comm wins matter?

First of all, there is no /rank. That is the difference between a log compiling program (like psychostats) and a server plugin like statsme. Please visit www.google.com and look them up.
Secondly, if you don't like the ranking system, all you have to do is not visit the site (http://www.nsarmslab.com/stats/veterans). Simple. No one is forcing you to participate or earn ranks. NOTHING has changed. All that is different from now and a week ago is that the people who play the most and support the server community the most get rewarded for their time. I see nothing wrong with that.
If you don't like the way this has been set up, you don't need to participate. But don't try and ruin everyone elses fun.

Today, while playing on NSA Vets, I got yelled at by an alien teammate because I 'stole his points' while killing a res node - I ended up getting the killing bite... twice. Gameplay on your revoles around personal kills and score more than ever - due to this plugin.

And generally the people who contribute the most to their team have the highest score or points (fades/gorges/etc). This is no different then normal.
And since when did people take to heart what anyone else said on the Vet server? Is this a new thing? We all know the a**hattery can be strong sometimes in such a competitive enviornment. That is to be expected. I don't think your one event of someone complaining proves much (nor would 20, or even 30). I've seen lots of complaining in my time before we had this program. I think what you are seeing is unfortunately just part of the normal routine. Give it a few weeks and we'll see how it goes. If it doesn't work out we can always change or kill it.

Well, on the Vet server, Id rather see yelling do to people "stealing points" then NO yelling because of no teamwork.

The great thing about BF2 is that if you do not want to participate in the rankings, you do not have to. Much like the NSA server, if you do not like the ranking system feel free to become a regular some where else.

I play at the vet server for a higher skilled NS oriented pub, if I wanted to hear "SSJ4 GOKUFAN69" go "WHAR R TEH GUNS?" as he flashes his flashlight on and off while jumping off the hera landing pad I'd visit one of the many mp_blockscripts servers.

I swear there are times I'd rather have the noob I can explain things to than 7 vets who all run out of MS on a beeline for the hive, all call for an early sg when they die, and are brought to a rude awakening when they find out neither the ip, armory, nor any rt's have been built yet, and that i'm not getting out of the chair to do these things.

Actually in bf2 nonranked server dont fill up and in ranked servers people will exploit the point system or get extremely **** off when they are accidently tked, ect.. Pubbing bf2 isnt very fun because of that stats system.
But on the other hand, the pro status mod that was recently installed on the vet server is approved by me.
