I'm trying to setup a server, it looks as if everything is setup fine and I can connect to it and play on it, however it does not show up in the steam server browser, what could be wrong?

Are you behind a router or a firewall? On an hlds or listenserver?

HLDS running on a linux server, not behind a router, firewall shouldn't be a problem as it's just the one local to the server and I think it's setup properly, and even with it turned off the server still doesn't show up.
edit: To clarify I'm pretty much 100% sure that the problem isn't with any sort of networking configuration, it's with some hlds_l configuration issue. Should I be looking for some setting in my server.cfg or something?
Here's what bits of it looks like during start-up:

Using AMD Optimised binary. Auto-restarting the server on crash
Console initialized. scandir failed:/home/sean/steam/./platform/SAVE Protocol version 47 Exe version 1.1.2.0/Stdio (valve) Exe build: 19:55:53 Jan 13 2004 (2637) STEAM Auth Server

edit2: My liblist.gam was out of date so I fixed that figuring because it contained a version number it might matter, didn't fix the problem.

that would be if your starting a listen server with a cracked version of counterstrike: source or half-life2.
theres no point in cracking dedicated servers if you're allowed to download the content directly from valve.
you can safely ignore that "no valve auth servers found, disabling valve authentication" thing. the only thing you need to worry about is if it says:
"could not establish a connection to steam servers"
and if you're behind a router, that would be one reason for it not showing up if you dont have your ports fowarded. another reason for it not showing up, if you know it has worked before, and you have the right ports fowarded. is if your servers content is out of date.
if thats the case, use the hldsupdatetool to update your servers content.

Well reason couse you dont see it (i had the same problem with my linux and XP server)
is couse it is "inside" your network, so you will newer be able to see a server inside you "own" network.
