I would think it would be a good addition to this ability if it could repair structures or maybe even other players... Or perhaps give it the ability to help gorges build structures, but not giving it the power of placing structures (leave that to the gorges alone)

I believe this would be a good add on to the fade's teamwork level... Lets say a fade saves an RT just in time, and no gorge is around to heal it on the spot... or on a co map, its 2v1 your trying to hold the 2 marine Jet Packers off the hive, but they manage to do some damage... and you have no time to go gorge and heal it before they return... I can see many ways where this add-on would help the alien team... I’m not completely supporting the idea saying give him the ability to heal other players or help build structures... but i would like to see this ability to heal structures if anything... but if you agree on the other 2 powers then i wouldn’t mind seeing them as well... also I’m not saying give it a major healing ability... keep it where it is now, 20 hit point heal is what it has now, so keep it weak to where it cannot compare to the gorges master healing ability

I don't like it.

Gorges are the medics/builders. If you start giving that kind of ability to other classes, the aliens get too powerful as the gorge is needed less.

Cause less gorges=more fades.

The Fade is more of a killing class then a support one. Leave the support to the Gorge, IMHO.

how could it cause less gorges? its no way in comparison to replaceing a gorge! how often do you go gorge to heal a structure? NEVER! in order to do this you would need gorges to get you the RTs, Structures, to heal... not to mention you will need that 2nd hive!

I know i mentioned a few times about how this wont replace gorges... a weak healing effect to structures... thats all i really said that i support... lol i dont see how you can argue that it will replace gorge... (they dont construct, they arent gorges! READ THE LABEL tounge.gif)

Say I just ploped into a hive after dieing. It is late game, we have chambers right outside marine start, and they are pinned in. There is one gorge on my team of 6, he is healing stuff, but he is slowly losing ground. We have 3 fades and 1 lerk.

In NS the way it is now, I'll go gorge to help out healing stuff.

In your system I'll go fade. I'll say "heck, between the 1 gorge and 4 fades, we can keep that stuff healed nicely, and we'll have 5 of the 6 of us attacking.".

This is just an example. The idea is, it strengthens the alien team by making an attacker alien useful in other ways as well. It would be like giving a JPer heavy armor as well.

smile-fix.gif nicely said... hrrrm, well the way gorges healing is 4% of total hp... on structures and units... the way it will be on fade is 20 hp on structures only... and the weakest structure is the sensory chamber of 750 hp... now even with a 4% heal rate with gorge on such a weak structure, it still does 30, 10 more than the fades heal rate... and i can understand where you comming from... a group of fades out put a gorge... so lets say you decreased the heal rate of fades heal rate of structures to 1%, which would take 4 fades to = 1 gorge... and that would be teamwork that you never see today... but making it that weak makes this addon seem pointless...

ok well lets take one of my other ideas in there... what would be wrong with giving it the ability to assist gorges in building structures?

Fades play already a major role in the game. Adding this small buff will allow them to heal (even slightly) some structures is a bad idea. Not to mention players... this almost reminds me of Mchief's idea of a hive-healing onos. *shudders*

As for assisting building... the gorges no longer have to worry too much about getting killed at this stage. They can go to a place, drop chambers, and let the fade guard while building the chambers while the gorge goes off to do something else. This means instead of a marine group coming in to attack the gorge building, the marine group comes in to find the fade building/guarding/able to kill that group. I think that's too much.

each Kharaa unit has specific roles. The fade is the soldier and the gorge is the builder. Let's not try and blur the lines in between them. Everythin has its place in NS. Plus, this would downplay the role of the gorge.

Most already consider metabolize rediculously overpowered... True this is a different class of power alltogether we are talking about, but I still don't think the ability needs more buffs.

leave the fade to kill and the gorge to build. ITs almost as bad as giving the gorge wings and the lerk stomp..
