Most of the body is done, I need to model the magazine and tac-rail, and most of the forward receiver (correct term?)
1097 tri before optimising
( ok Chrono/BAash ok, I'm trying a new technique xD )

C&C plz.

I don't know

my bad lol.
I'm planning on having a p90 style tac-rail at the front, and using the same style of magazine as the p90, but having it loaded horizontally on the side of the weapon just above the foregrip.
Thoughts?
(is it just me, or does the fogrip 'guard' thingy kind of make it look like the klobb from goldeneye?)

still looks a tad funkatated, but I'll hold my remarks till the rest of the model is done.
looks great so far,but the p90 style handguard/grip looks a tad sharp at the bottom...

looks cool so far although Im not a big fan of hacks. you should shange the buttstock, looks kinda unfitting.

It's not a hack, I thought I made that quite clear.
And plz wait until it's mostly done before critting the proportions, as some of it isn't even done ?
(edit : lololol might help if i selected most of the model - 2500 tri or something)

p90 + thompson. so far its a hack. except you dont call it a hack because you are not using any parts from other models and model it all by yourself.
I wasnt talking about proportions, I was talking about the ugly thompson buttstock that doesnt fit to the detailed p90 part.

I'd say ditch the tompson parts except for the grip, and make a pipe-like stock. Perhaps add some walther mpl look to it and you have a winner.

make the model a bit less obvious "hacked together" . the both styles of the guns dont really fit together. for the ergonomics the p90 features, the buttstock of the tompson is way to low.... its like a dinosaur wearing nike´s... at least give him to wear modern clothes too... or make the nike´s old and almost falling apart

Okay, it's pretty much finished now pending crits (not about the PC plz ??)
Please don't kill me about the tri count, I was mostly modelling this as a proof-of-concept type thing, I wasn't sure exactly how I could model it to make it look 'right'.
Okay, without any further ado :

what about the unnecessary ornaments on the sides? remove it and the polycount will drop to a more acceptable number -_-
SpaceJesus
Jul 18 2005, 07:00 AM
the ornament son the side are very low poly, most of the missing tri's are used on overly-rounded edges, where I *could* optimise for game-use, but I don't realy have enough time to be honest.

The ornaments could be added in the skin? And why is the butt of the main body of the rifle pierced with a ring? Just curious of what purpose it serves

The SAS use them.
