Hello,
My server is intended for those who are mature and who are willing to play as a team. Because clanmembers generally know what it is like to play like a team, i am looking for clans that would like to play on my server. I am even willing to temporarily set a password on the server so clanmatches can be played on it.
The server has a special plugin that forces newcomers to read the rules for 2 minutes long. How is this achieved? The plugin teleports any newcomers into the ground and displays the rules. During the timer countdown the newcomer cant use F1 or F2 to autojoin a team. After the timer has counted down the newcomer is freed from the ground and allowed to join the game. The STEAM_ID of the newcomer will be registerd, making him a regular player that doesent have to wait two minutes again in the future. This plugin works as a noob filter. Anyone that wouldent read rules in general (let alone abide by them) isent going to wait 2 minutes long and therefore will disconnect from the server before the 2 minutes have elapsed.
Another plugin makes the aliens vote for the first hive chamber, preventing any noobs from building an undesired chamber.
other relevant plugins:
-phaseselect
-unstuck pro
-idlekicker
The server is extremely fast. It is situated in holland, Rotterdam. Europeans have an average ping of 50 on my server. Americans have an average ping of 100 on my server.

I am trying to avoid BG's on my server, the only way to achieve this is to keep the 12 year old players outside and to make the players play like a team.
The minimum age is 17. But if your 16 or 15 and you know how to behave then your welcome aswell.
One more thing. The rules you will read on my server are many, but i expect you to abide by them all. It is the only way to make everyone have a good time.
Yours,
Maurice

Interesting concept, attempting to force new joins to read your server rules.
Guess what ... it didn't work. You should put as much time into developing and testing your plugins as you do in posting lengthy threads pimpin' your server.
Good luck, whenever you get it working, if you get it working.

?
It worked fine when i first joined my server. Could you be a bit more specific? What didn't work exactly? The entire plugin or just part of the plugin?

Suffice it to say, I joined the server (as a new join) and never saw the rules. Ever.

Thats odd because other people do see the rules. What OS do you have? windows or linux?
Perhaps you can join again and type /playerrules. this should display the rules.

That is my point - if you want this system to work the new joins shouldn't have to type anything to see the rules. I did not see the rules.

most players dont have to type anything. They will get to see the rules automatically. Your an exception. Thats why i want to know what OS your using and whether your using steam or hlws.

I doubt I'm the exception. According to your server's instructions you have to select "8" to view them. I never did, and 2 minutes later I was unburied and joined - without viewing squat.
TBH the OS and method of joining is irrelevant. Good luck.

being burried for 2 mins.... sounds more like a good excuse for a snack run then to read the rules.
btw what type of nazi country are you hosting from where you get the idea its okay to discriminate on people based on age.

ah, like that... Well i cant control that. But burying people for x seconds can make them consider to read the rules since they dont have anything to do atm.

The largest country between the north sea and germany.
Seriously though, i dont want to play with little twelve year olds. There not even supposed to play half-life. the parental warrent on the half-lfie box says minimum age 16+.
Why all this anger people?

You dont like my post? Then dont reply to it. It was adressed to clans anyway.

No anger here, just wanted to point out a flaw in your plugin. And you could easily get the rules to show without the new joiner selecting a key. Good luck.

yes and the method in which you pointed it out was in a smarmy, un-informative way.
Anyway, will give your server a blast when im next on, sounds good, maybe reduce the 2min thing abit though.
Just had a go was good stuff

Also we would like to make ourselves known at
GGNCReduce the ammount of rules to increase you rplayer base and allow admins too enforce them. Most rules are commons sense and dont really need to be there

I tend to do that when people release/use plugins that haven't been tested to work correctly.

I admire the idea to make people read the rules... but 2 minutes? 120 seconds to read a set of lines. I don't see "dyslexic" anywhere in your server name, so I presume that you assume that your players cannot read very well. Considering they are seventeen plus, and of an intelligent calibur. I would myself assume that no intelligent person is going to sit still for 120 seconds to view what they already know. 30 seconds would be more than enough.
