uh...
do you know how much time and money others have to invest into their maya training
and the weeks of learning by doing.... ive went through this too..and its not really cheap... thats why i would write comercial tutorials as well.. i accept paypal 
there are some PLE vids around nothing really spectacular ..but its a start ,its also handy if you have worked with other packages before

they have a tutorial on the aspects of maya on the site,but besides that (they show you how to make a nurbs sphere!!!11!1!11!) most are cost intensive.Your better off just learning yourself...
