We currently get RFK, but why not modify it to give res for destroying enemy structures?

In very small games (1v1 through 3v3) the aliens can easily just OC spam everywhere, and theres not much the marines can do. If you gave the marines res for each structure killed it would help them these situations. Once the rines get GLs they can take out the spam, but it is a slow process. By giving them RFK for structures it would negate some of the affects from loss of time.

In the larger games this would encourage skulks to kill more rts, and may still help marines out if there is OC spam.

I like this idea. but... it kinda needs tweaking but dont know how.

This would actualy help the aliens more than marines. Since a skulk that runs around biting RTs will now get rewarded, which I kinda like. But then, they get to go fade early which I dont like. But i think this is a solid Idea that should get descussed

Well, I don't think 1v1 or even 3v3 happens very often.

But I always thought a resource reward for knifing an RT was in order. Possibly only for marines?

I wonder how this would influence the flow of the game, though. An extra source of income could change a lot of things.

i say yes to it.

it slows down the turret farming and the oc laming because eitehr side will get rewarded for taking a bit of it down.
but it should be a tiny amount, like half a res per turret or oc

it would make recycle structures a lot more important, not only do you get res back if you recycle but it stops aliens from getting res - 2 res per structure?

comms and gorges would need to be more thoughful an clever about structure placement.

siegeing out a hive as apposed to trying to shoot it down, now would be easier if there were many chambers inside the hive, the comm would get a 10-30 res boost.

Also Comm chairs and hives should give you say 8 res, its more incentive.

It also allows either team to make better come back before it is too late. after all when 1 team dominates most of the map even for a short period of time its too hard for the other team to come back as the cost for replacing 1 or 2 res towers here and there out of 10 res towers is nothing.

I don't think it's a good idea, concerning Aliens.

One alien can quickly rack up resources by killing turrets downed froma TF< or just making sure that he gets the killing bite on everything, coordinating with his team.

Marines, it's do-able I think. At mabye 1 res.

But if they get RFK on chambers, at least lower the cost of the most killed chamber (The OC) to mabye like 8 or 7.

Good idea. Maybe it could be modified, depending on the structure. Turrets would give 1, Advanced Armories, Observatories, Arms Labs, and Proto Labs 3 (because there is a great strategic value in destroying these), and the rest 2.

As for marines destroying alien buildings, I don't think it's such a good idea.

Maybe this could be part of a changed RFK system. Marines get 1 res per Skulk or Gorge kill, 2 res per Fade or Lerk kill, and 3 res per Onos kill. Aliens get res every time they kill a building.

This would be good because it would encourage strategic goals. The Marines primarily need to take out higher life forms. The Aliens primarily need to slow down Marine tech advancement and break lockdowns. However, this would be a slight nerf for the aliens, since they kill buildings less often than the marines kill the aliens.

Yes and make reg tfacs and armorys 1 rez as well.

In effect RFK for structures is already in effect. If either team drops a RT and you kill it before it regains the res spent on it, you're essentially taking away their res (which in terms of balance is similar to your team gaining res).

Even better examples are taking out turret factories before they recuperate the res spent on the tfact/turrets/elec through RFK (I think turrets get RFK for the Comander).

So I only see this making it harder for the Devs to balance the res distribution and upgrade/lifeform/structure costs.

needs balancing but works for me, i cant say why isnt this already in the game, but i can say its worth a try

I worry that this would speed up the game far too much though. While I like the idea of getting res for killing res towers (which mildly makes sense), I don't like the idea of getting res for killing turrets or movement chambers for instance. That extra res could add up very quickly.

Also, think of the case where the marines are sieging a hive. In the case where there are lots of OC's and upgrade chambers, you're talking about a 10-30 res boost for marines. With an effective commander that's most than enough res to turn the tide of a siege.

I don't like it. :/

Ooow agreed, i dis agre ewith this i didnt even think seiges obliterating 200 rez of structures in a matter of minutes, i dissagree with this thread and idea now

Make it where aliens only get RFK from buildings and rines only get RFK from alien kills. TheClam had suggested this.
