Though I'm a total newbie
I keep seeing skulkbuddy always sticking to the floor
If you got silence and even cloaking, then use the CEILING

Just a hint ^_^

It so difficult to run on ceilings because of all the uneven surfaces

but if you can do it, you'll get many kills - just don't fall down too far away from the marine or you'll be shot down in an instant.

Bind your 'swimup' key and hold it down on the ceiling. Try it ^__^

That is such a good freaking idea. I've got to see how well that works.

Another hint: If you see another skulk sneaking (walking, not doing any sounds at all) to get close to a marine whoe does not know about him beeing there.. DON'T RUN PAST HIM.
That really sucks i can't count how many times that happens to me.. sneaking up on 2 marines knifing a node, some skulk runs past me and both marines start blasting our way as they hear him coming. Both skulks death -_-
Remember: Skulks don't need silence to move without sound! Sneaking is slower but still it makes no sound.
Just use the walk key or tab the forward key. With some practice the "tab the forward key" thing is even faster than walking.

I normally hide on the ceiling above an entryway, but not in a spot that a marine would check when entering the room.
Then leap + switch to bite in midair and get him RIGHT IN TEH FAEC!

If your gonna hide by a doorway, allways hide on the LEFT side of it (from the marines point of view) as most people are right handed, so they will always look right forst, so you jump on their back.

Waiting for rines on the ceiling is smart. However, when most rines jump around the corner, they look up-right first to look for skulks. So most of the time, you'll get shot down easily (unless you have cloaking). You also can't strafe jump, wall strafe, bhop, or floor hug to catch up to a rine and kill him when you're on the ceiling.

Attacking from the cieling is a bad idea, IMO. If you get spotted, the rine can kill you ten times over before you can fall to the ground. When you are free falling, you have almost no control over yourself, so you are an easy target. Same thing for leap. Experienced marines will track you easily when you leap, because you are commited to your trajectory when you leap. You move really fast, yes, but you are also easily predicted.
My personal fave spot to wait is just next to the entrance, slightly above head lvl. The idea is to get myself as quickly and effectivly as possbible into bite range. Stay on the ground, dodge around, and make yourself unpredictable.
Sometimes waiting next to a door right at the feet of rines is a succesful tactic. They will check the cieling and corners first, and not even notice your for a split second. The best place to hide is where your opponenct will not look.

hehe, you know i never actually thought about it, but that might actually be very true. I'm a lefty, and i do tend to look left first. i suppose that gives me an advantage

Skulks with Silence and Cloak ftw. If your team's gorges are doing their job right they'll be placing Sensory towers over most of the map, meaning you won't need scent of fear. just remember to move slowly when coming up on marines from in front (or stand still and let them come to you!). the faster you move while cloaked, the easier you are to see.

leap is the ultimate skulk ability, learn to use it everywhere perfectly.

I'm a sitting skulk if i don't have my leap, because i tend to rush at the marines.
