in stead of RTs giving rez every click. For every Rt speed up the clicking..
erm
Click=4 seconds
Like right now, if I have 4 rts, I get 4 rez a click. But all at once.
Ill just outline it
1rt=1 rez every 4 seconds
2rts=1 rez every 2 seconds
3rts=1 rez every 1.33 seconds
4rts=1 rez every 1 seconds
5rts=1 rez every 0.8 seconds
6rts=1 rez every 0.66 seconds
7rts=1 rez every 0.57 seconds
8rts=1 rez every 0.5 seconds
So instead of waiting for clicks to get rez, its a continious flow.
unless this would just drive servers to insanity

So maybe I misunderstood...
Did you just suggest that they keep the current system but alter the way it does what it does?
I don't see the purpose?

Utilimatly It doesn't realy effect much. Marine do not gain rez any slow or faster. Just more continuous.
So that way if a comm has 0 rez, he doesn't have to wait 4 seconds to drop a medpack during the heat of battle waiting for the next tick of what ever rez.

If possible, I would like this. Make the res flow, rather than come in bursts. That way I can judge more easily when exactly I'll have res for xx upgrade, because I can watch the counter steadily increase.

sounds good to me, but as long as it does not effect server lag.

Cool idea but i think it is more time than the dev team is willing to put into the mod (not that they don't care, just they have other things to worry about like NS2 and NS:S.)

What you said is my only consern. If it would cause to much lag, dont even bother putting it in.

well this would work like the other idea about DCs healing continuosly and probably in the same way probably cause server lag. and it will actually buff the marines very slightly since they can get that one more res for an rt rather than having to wait for all 4 res to suddenly come in at once.
this could be considered but if it is too taxing on the server it will get locked

Its a good idea, but then you should say the same for the healing effect of DC's and the same for teh MCs effect. but i think for them to be pushed out continously would require a lot more calculations server side to check if something was in the AOE or if the RT's had been lost.
I think thumbs up to the idea, but i dont believe it is possible to implement as it stands.

Great Idea! It would sorta counter the free alien upgrades.

it is definately a great idea since it wouldnt change the gameplay at all...except for a more constant resflow which is good.
How would it work for the Aliens? Alien res Income stays the same as it is now?

maybe equal it out in decimals... maybe have an option on there that allows you to see the decimals on the res counter... i dont know, maybe thats not such a good idea, just more to look at... and with big teams it would take forever to get 1 res on aliens...
maybe increase res nodes to 1.25 res... gorges and skulks get 25% percent of res each, lerks get 20%, fades 17%, onos gets 13%... or something like that, just with 1 res node it would suck

In order to reduce lag and server strain, would it be possible for this to only send the detailed information to the commander, while the grunts see it like it was before?

The players that would need this:
Skulks - gestate asap!
Gorge - drop that rt/mc/whatever asap!
Comm - drop those medpacks NOW!
Marines on the ground don't spend res.
Lerks, fades, and onos don't spend res except when they die and gestate again. On rare occasions one might go gorge to drop a hive - I don't think that makes it worth it.
Might reduce lag to have it only affect these guys.

I think that resource is one of the biggest issues when it comes to balance issues.
The resources should give more or less depending on number of players. That would not only balance the game for large numbers of players but even help with smaller numbers. Unfortunately I have no actual calculations..
