The PG "idle sound" turns off when you reload next to it.

Sometimes the PG "idle sound" lingers if the game ends, and a new one starts on the same map.

Well? Go reload next to a pg and find out for yourself tounge.gif

Yes, thankfully this is the only bug in NS so I can devote full attention to it user posted image

Also...

The PG bug where when you phase in you are "stuck" and thus get either telefraged by the next chump or are easily killed. This has been happening more often on eclipse (maybe there are map brushes sticking out funny).

Well then...

I haven't been able to reproduce the pg sound turning off when you reload.

The PG sound lingering after the end of a game is in a bug marked private.

And some mean of reproducing the "stuck" bug would be nice.

I think I'm going to move this to investigation and see if anyone else can add some info.

If you spawn into a game with a PG already up and running, then the PG sounds wont play for you.

But if you are in a game before the PG goes up, then the PG sounds work fine.

right by eclipse command hive, at the siege spot in prim. gen, if you drop a PG partially over one of the broken floor spots.. kinda up against the hive-side wall. I haven't checked to reproduce but from memory I can recall PGs at / around that spot being struck by the stuck bug a few times.

yeah that's an older vers. of the map but that particular spot hasn't changed and it's the first that popped up on google search tounge.gif

Getting stuck in a PG isn't just a random bug. It only happens when the PG is built on indentations in the floor.

You know when you are dropping a structure from the comm chair, when it shows the building in red if you can't drop it there, or green if you can? Well, the reason that you get stuck in PGs is that the area of the PG that decides whether it will be droppable or not (red or green), is very small. It is so small that you can build PGs in little indentations in the floor that the marine is fat enough so that he will get stuck when he phases. Kind of hard to explain...

I attached a picture to this post to explain it.

The black circle is the phase gate.

The little green circle is the space that determines whether the phase gate will be allowed to be dropped or not by the commander.

The red circle is a marine. The marine is "fatter" than the green circle.

The grey circle would be an indentation (or hole) in the ground. If you can tell, the green circle is small enough to fit in the grey circle (hole), but the marine is bigger then the hole. Therefore, the phase gate can be dropped in the hole, but the marine is going get stuck in the ground when he phases.
