I've looked around for guides and tutorials, but I'm just not getting it. In all of my computer experience and training, I've never had to use IRC (*gasp!*)

Step 1: Get an IRC Client. mIRC (http://www.mirc.com) is good.
Step 2: Set all your options up (nickname, etc).
Step 3: Connect to the GameSurge IRC network. To do this, in the command line, type the following:

It should then connect to GameSurge.
Step 4: join the NaturalSelection channel
In the command line, when all activity has stopped, type this:

| /join #naturalselection |
Channel names always start with #.

I suggest that you DO NOT use MIRC. Use an alternative like HydraIRC as most viruses are aimed at Mirc as it is a very popular client.

I have been using mIRC for several years and never EVAR picked up a virus on it. All you need is a little common sense, which you should possess if you operate a computer anyway. *rollseyes*
mIRC stuff for new IRC users should answer nearly any question you have Material Defender.

I'm using Chatzilla, a plugin for Firefox/Mozilla browsers. I've tried mIRC, but it does require registration (I believe?). Didn't care much for it either.
EDIT:I was wondering, why is there no tutorial in this forum to help people connect to #naturalselection ? I did the forum search, and it turned up nothing. Is it really that simple, and I just couldn't figure it out?

I have never paid a dime for mIRC, although they make it sound as if it costs to register.
I shall post the referenced link on here for all mIRC users.
I just hate the wait mIRC gives you when you start it.

Geeeeeeeeeze, dunno Yash, I never have a problem. Sometimes if you try to REjoin to fast it will delay you saying "throttled to fast".
