HI, i have followed the last 2 twg's and i would like to take part in the next one but i am still unsure on a couple of general rules which i haven't found the answers to, if someone could answer me then delete this thread when i have read it so it doesn't interfere with the games
1 - if someone is guarded by the gaurdian and wolves select that person to be wolfed, is the person saved or are the wolves told they cannot wolf him and choose someone else?
2 - Do all the wolves know each other at the start, or do they have to network first?
Thanks

1. Well, no-one's been saved yet, so I can't be sure of this.
I believe that the wolves fail to kill their target. They don't get a second chance, otherwise the guardian would be completely worthless.
2. All the wolves know each other at the start.
I'd ask that if you're going to join, you try and give us notice if anything comes up. We all have schedules, so we're not going to bite your head off if you're going to be held up for a couple of days; c'est la vie. However, we'll get really ticked if you disappear off the face of the earth. It's not much to spend 5 minutes PMing the host or posting on the main thread that you're going to be held up, or you're too busy to play the game at all. Having someone absent when votes are tied, for example, is a really frustrating experience.

No problem, i had the same questions before this game

If someone is guarded, he cannot be killed. If the wolves try to kill him, they do not get another chance to kill anyone that night.
The wolves are told at the start of the game who the other wolves are, so they do not need to network to find out.

Correction:
c'est la vie. What you just said meant "(it) that life", instead of "that's life".

This is why I got a C for French when I did my GCSEs, and that was 8 years ago... ;P
Edited accordingly. (:

Heh, I'll just piggyback here, so as not to fill this place up with question threads...
I've also got one quick question (I've been reading over this and the past one, and will probably join)...
Every night the psychic is informed how many wolves are left... Does this happen before or after the night's wolfing? I know normally it wouldn't make a difference, but if the wolves make the risky move of wolfing one of their own, it could. I think it happens right after the lynch, but I want to make sure.

It happens before the night's wolfing (immediately after the "it is now night" post). I actually asked that after the last game (or maybe someone else did, I can't remember anymore), after playing in two of the games, so it's a good question. (The answer is buried in another thread (TWG III postgame (parentheses are fun)), so it's not like you would be likely to find it anyway.)
It's good to know that we have people following along closely that want to play next game.

Oh, definitely... I spent most of yesterday morning (at work) reading through the previous game from start to finish (My boss doesn't get in until 1 1/2 hours after me (And parentheses are VERY fun (Especially if you're a programmer)))... So I'm picking up some of the tactics and won't be a complete newbie

I too am thinking about playing next game. Would my 90-something posts be acceptable? I don't really want to have to do random posts in other forums, but if it's neccessary to have over 100 posts...

You have been around on the forums for almost two years. We let urinalcake play the first game with under 100 posts since he had been around for a while, so it should be fine. The biggest reason for that rule (I think) is to make sure people don't join the forum just to play the game. Besides, I've seen you looking at this thread more often than anyone actually playing the game.

I've been trying to get into the right mindset, seeing if I could identify any wolves from the thread alone. If it would be ok, I'd like to share my thoughts in the post game thread, when it comes to it...

Anyone can post in the postgame thread, the only reason the game thread is limited is to keep the actual game from being ruined by outside influences.
And at this rate, I would be surprised if you don't have 100 posts by the time the signups thread is posted.

Ah, ok. When I get interested in something I post lots. Normally I'm just a professional lurker

It'll be pretty cool to see the game from an outsider's point of view. (:

Look up, there's actually a stickied thread in this section just to ask your questions. I'm going to move all the questions that have been asked in this thread and add them to the FAQ's.
As far as Hellfire3k goes, his last post was on April 9th. I've sent him a PM telling him to show up or he'll likly be replaced. I imagine he would have stuff going on in RL because I don't see him just forgetting about TWG.

You know, that makes me wonder something... what if you don't vote for so long that you're phantom votes instalynch you, even if no one has voted for you?

And if that's not enough, we can just add your posts from the movie forum... Hey, that works for me too... Then we have well over 300 posts each... Heheh.

It's never happened before and probably never will. If a player fails to vote that often they'd most likly be replaced. There is no real answer as of now to what would happen if the situation did occur.
