I propose the idea that when an area is being scanned it disrupts all Kahraa Hive Communication.
In other words, Any Alien or Alien Structer With in the scan area will no longer Transmit information nor reaseave any.
For example. If you scan an area, and there is a rez node in that area, Attacking it will not alert "Structer under attack" Nor will it show up on hive sight during that time.
Also example. If a skulk is in an area that got pinged, They lose thier hive sight.
How ever, Hive under attack CAN NOT be disrupted by this. Nor can the hive itself be effected by this abiltiy.
as far as I care, this could also be a new ability that costs energy from the obs.
this would be kinda cool and maybe help with the sof aoe of sensory chambers, like i fyou know one is there you scan it and kill it beore the aliens know what hit them. ninja phasegates may be slightly more viable now.
might cause some imbalances in clan play though or in normal play. like comm pings res node and they all attack, reload, com pings res node again and they kill it.

Maybe it could have a cooldown time to prevent c4t's theoretical situatuion from coming about. That way a team of marines could get a 'head-start' on killing a node, but wouldn't let them take an RT down utterly unnoticed. If this also disrupted SC's SoF, ninja phases could also come back in style.
Maybe it could be called a disruption wave, Bioscrambler, the mind-mush ping..... =p

it wouldn't disrupt voice comm how ever. Thus good comunication will still beat the ninja.

I like it. Would add a nice steathy feel to the marines without hiding, sneaking around in the sense of a guy tiptoeing around.
Thumbs up

Id like to point out, that people may argue that marines are brute force, and aliens are cunning, tactical creatures..
If you keep it like that Brute force will always lose against the cunning and tactical.
Aliens have both brute force, and Cunning.

The question is will pinging an area cause structures to drop off of the map on alienside (I am talking hitting the popup map)?
For example, commander pings an rt, since it is no longer communicating with the hive, it will drop off of the hivesight, but would it be logical to say that it would drop off the popup map too?

It should not drop out of hive sight or the popup map because that would indicate to the aliens that the commander has disrupted the area. It should not be visible to the aliens in any way in order to be useful. The scan itself will have no visual for the aliens.

since comms rarely scan.. and it temporarily disables hive sight.. and counters SOF, yes..
Thumbs up..

I'd prefer a hole show up in the Alien's Hivesight and Map. The Commander can still fake out the aliens by scanning in multiple locations regularly, if he really wants to do that.
I'm just wondering, is this effect limited only to scans, or does the Observatory do the same thing?
