Used to be a clanner but now retired so I guess qualify.
Post time and date here (I´m european so server location is no problem).
PS. I played guys with the "knifegaming" prefix a few times so I harldy expect to win but it sure would be fun to try.

Interested, asking clan if they are also.
"non-competitive"? You're hardly pub players.
comrade
Mar 31 2005, 08:11 PM
i dont think you understood it
a group of six players who are non-competitive play a round against sensory aliens from a good clan (which I volunteered knife for)
this is to prove to idiots that their wonderful sensory beating strats just do not work

i'll play you, on the condition that i don't have 5 others on my team.
i can singlehandedly take out any clan.
you will get owned, just a warning.

Non-competitive, eh?
I've been reading through the topic where the challenge was issued (sans a slap to the face with a glove LOL), and I feel I'd have fun being totally incapable of holding my own against members of the competitive scene (let alone Knife ROFL).
But yeah, seriously.

Mar 31 2005, 11:12 PM
By non-competitive I mean people who play on public servers where they have all the answers to beating sensory, it's just that clan players are way too slow at adapting to realise the counters

How dare you accuse me of not being a public player!
That 'eh' was one of consideration, not perplexion or anything of the sort.

Match of the century! I wonder what kind of amazing strategies will beat knife and their use of the incredibly balanced sensory chamber.

Somewhat harsh, as none of these people have given this opinion.
If you must pick from the NSPT/Dev group, at least pick better.*

* Obligatory Disclaimer : No, I've not played all of these people, so it might be some might be incredibly good in that environment. Thanks.

Hmmm .... Can i join alien? I want to chew Talesin.
I don't know the marins skill level (no offense) but isn't it too much unfair?
I mean even with DC the alien can win to my opinion.
Can i join?? just to chew talesin... arrh comon!!!!
Maybe alien can do sometjhng to help marins... only 2 sensos.

Oh no not the mighty Talesin who keeps telling us to adapt to the game he dosen't even play ?!?!?!
Ok, on a more serious note, I have a question for Talesin. How much time do you spend playing NS on a weekly basis?

I think you misunderstood the points in some of those threads. If the ALIEN team isn't a clan (no preplanning, each player doesn't know exactly how the others play), then the marine team has a much better chance of winning against sensory first aliens. That is why pubbers keep saying that sensory first is beatable, while clanners say it isn't. The fact that aliens can't plan who will go to which exact point on the map to place chambers makes the alien team that much weaker, and gives the marine team a much better chance.
Basically, you completely misinterpreted their statements (which may have been made poorly to begin with, but I believe that was their basis).

That's exactly why the clanners are going to be the aliens. The pubbers say "We can beat SC aliens because of X, Y, and Z strats." The clanners say "X, Y and Z only work becuase the aliens don't have teamwork, and SCs are still overpowered. Against clan-level aliens with good teamwork, X, Y and Z won't do jack."
Whoever wins in this contest proves their point of view. If the aliens rape the marines, then it's another argument for how overpowered SCs are. If the marines dominate the aliens then the clanners are wrong and need to adapt.

A non-competitive team versus a clan...
Sounds like the clan will win whatever chamber they have.
Maby not the best way to prove that sensory chamber is overpowered (if it is).

@im lost
It may not be a problem for all players. Skilled player can "adapt" (haha) to the strategy easily. It depends more on the map itself than a strategy. I often see good players from different clans play efficiently together. No need to talk sometimes.
_______________
To my opinion it's more interesting to study sensory with only 2 chambers diplsayed. I mean: we know that if the aliens display the 3 sensory chambers on the map exactly where they want: They have the upper hand in the early game and may fullfill the next objectives (hive, fade etc...). For this PCW... ok we know who wins.
Only 2 sensory chambers changes everithing :'Focus sux', scent of fear radius is not enough large (my taste), cloaking is slow. Study in which way the aliens start to loose in this case may help to solve the so called "sensory" problem.
Honneslty a clan which plays a PCW try to play the best team they can. Or at least a decent opponent which can (maybe) counter his (sensory) strategy. When you loose one of the sensory your "Sensory kung fu becomes crappy"... And at that exact time sensory becomes UNDERpowered...
Try this:
Marins team stay Alien will drop only 2 senso. Alien team include 2 players from outside. It doesn't take an hour to explain a strat (you do that; senso will be here ... k let's go). If the second hive is up; aliens have the right to build the third sensory chamber. It'll be more fair play.

This would be fun... however one match wouldnt decide anything
Non Clanners Verses Clanners......
Give us 5 matches on 5 random maps (some can be completed)
Let each of us try our own strategies......
Id do it as long as any competitive nature was taken out cuz itd be frickin FUN

I propose these match(es) played next weekend or one after it and I am ready to command in that game. That list some had is unvalued due people havent been asked. I would like to have people with low pings there so it really would be honest(sorry aussies and yankees). I would say let alien have the 3 sc, You just need to scan one of them and reach it, not so hard.
Comrade could make list in the first post about voluntiereed players and the time it would be held. And get all state-of-the-art things like HLTV

What level of clan are we talking about? omega or delta?
GP will be willing to scrim as we are tring to get ready for the nslearn tourney, when and if that happens. We are not competitive but we can hold our own.
We would be willing to participate and host, maybe a HLTV server too if an audience is present.
Just looking for experience.

If the aliens win, then it won't prove anything, other than the fact that clans have an advantage when they play as a team against non-clanners.
If the marines win, then it will prove something, depending on the strategy that they used.

This post is neither witty nor clever. Besides which, Nemesis Zero (one of your "team") not only has been responsible for marine buffs (as Producer) but also spends most of his time getting new versions of NS made. Way to show how spoilt you are.
Locked before any more idiots get together and form a critical 'tard.
