Ok, first i've to say that my english is poor, sorry.

Now we can build DC or MC or SC for each hive ( one per hive ), and it's cool because the max is 3 hives tounge.gif But i think it would be better if we can assignate Offense Chambers ( not the Offense chamber that we know, a special OC for upgrades, in the special buildings menu ) to the hive ; and we can have offensives upgrades ( faster attacks, like celerity, or others upgrades but i have no ideas ).

So we have 4 chambers and 3 hives. The alien team have to ignore a chamber

When the OC are builded, the OC ( not for upgade xD but for the defense ) are stronger ( more dmg, faster attack speed, or something like ).

I think it can be cool smile-fix.gif Carapace / Silence / Fast attack or Cloak+Focus+Scentoffear( near SC) + Silence + Fast attack lolol fast focus !

Hum ok. write comments tounge.gif and if I said something with differents words, sorry xD English is not my language...

Thanks all, see you.

this has already been sujested, but its not really the fact of 3 upgrade chambers for three hives in my opinion, its more of a fact of sc = intelgence, dc = tank like, and mc = cunning so mage worrior and rogue

I'd like this idea as it would open up more strategic possibilities. The only problem is if there are engine constraints and the fact that you are weakening gorges. If the team decides DCs for example, you only have DCs, RTs and hives to build. Another problem would be on how to add the OC as part of the NS menu.

If i've understand what you said " If the team decides DCs for example, you only have DCs, RTs and hives to build. "

No, you can build OC, but it's the normal OC. The New OC ( name : OCU, its more easy ) is like the other chambers ( DC SC MC ), but the normal OC is the same of the v3, you build it if you want or not, and it won't be assignate to the hive. ( only the OCU is for upgrades ) In fact we've 2 types of Offense Chambers.

For the menu, hum... Like the part with lifeforms. A vertical line and chambers on each side. The order of chambers is random :/

OCs were an upgrade chamber in some early versions of NS' development. I have no idea if they ever even made it into a pre-1.0 build that was playtested but I believe the general idea behind the upgrades was there was one that made your melee-type attacks (bite, swipe, etc) more powerful, and one that made your ranged attacks more powerful (acid rocket, spikes) and another one that did something... (this is all way before my time, I'm going from memory of something I read a long time ago).

Whoever wrote the post that I got this information from gave the impression that generally the problem was as the game sorted itself out it became fairly clear that ranged attacks were not going to be the mainstay of the Alien's arsenal, and the viability of Offense chambers as something that provided upgrades was probably not terribly feasible. And as such they were changed into a chamber that provided static defense, but didn't provide upgrades and wasn't tied to a hive the way the other chambers were.

To the heart of your suggestion, if OCs were to become an upgrade chamber again (and I think that at some point that would be a viable idea, but, and this is only my opinion, it seems incredibly unlikely to happen soon), they would probably retain their ability to attack Marines on top of giving upgrades. First because having two Offense Chambers would be incredibly confusing, and secondly because all the chambers do something beyond just providing upgrades, and we know OCs being able to attack works.

I know TOmekki, you posted something about the OC, but you want to remove the SC, and that's not my suggestion. I just want to add upgrades for the OC.

With your comment,JazzX, I think it's better with one OC and it's the same that we know in the v3, but it gives upgrades too. It's easier.

I think NS needs more strategy, so, 4 chambers with 3 hives gives a choice, and it's more " fun " with a lot of choices tounge.gif ( omg ? DC or MC ? OC ??!! ) tounge.gif In that version it's not difficul, 2 hives with DC and MC for the beginning ( if we lose a hive it's not a problem, just rebuild it :/ ) with 4 chambers we have to loose a hive for having the 4 chambers.

Hum i'm saying what I already said in my precedent post :/

So, have a nice day ^^

well i dont like this idea simply because i love all the 3 chambers so much i would leave the game if someone goes for OCU. sad-fix.gif

First off, I have to say that you do a good job with English, seeing as it's a hard language to learn.

Second, this idea has been suggested many times before. I still like the idea, but right now such a big change is impossible, maybe possible in a future version (4.0 tounge.gif ).
