is there any way to set a texture on a model to the same additive mode used for marines viewed through an alien's hive·sight (flashlight)? in other words, to make something actually glow in the dark despite enviromental lighting...?

This would have to make a texture being unaffected by the lighting of HL.
As we can only use chrome, additive and masked this seems to be impossible.
