Every time I try to comm I end up getting overwhelmed. I think I am not the only one or else people just realy dont know what to do.

My solution is that every marine should be able to place a marker for a structure a little icon would pop up on the comm window and a right click would take the comm to map position of the area also a left click on the icon would automaticly spawn it for building.

I think this is great because if the comm is working with trusted players he wouldnt even need to look and if they arent to sure about the player they can review it for building before commiting team resources.

I think one of the most ackwerd things about commanding is that you cant just click a button to give the requesters health packs, ammo, weapons, upgrades, and even upgrades in structures, instead you must split your attention away from your team moveing to a diffrent part of the map and do these things and if you have a few diffrent squads doing a few diffrent things it can quickly become overwhelming

also since I havent seen a server with more then 32 people ( 16 per team -1 person who is commanding ) it would be nice if each team member were auto assighned a hotkey and you could use shift as you pressed the hotkeys to select more people. there is already a squad hotkey setting you have to set yourself but this would make it easy, also knowing who is in your squad as a soldier and to stick with them would be good too.

Anyways I know I owe mucho respect to anyone who has read the whole thing so thank you smile-fix.gif I am new to the community so if this post is newbish please dont flame just offer your respectful criticiseim and I promise I will place more attention on that then any flame response

well sry to say but i think the dev team dont want to make comming any easyer then it is.Also like in many rts you first find the multitasking and micromanaging overwhelming but in time as you play it will ease up and you find more free time to scratsh yourself or drink your cold coffee on the table.

I dunno...i like the idea of having ammo/health/need order requests appear on the comm's minimap...but not too often, to prevent spamming. That way you can attend to everyone, instead of missing one or two important ones because the third marine spammed 20 requests for a medpack coming out of the infantry portal

thanks for the great replys Scrap and monopolowa.

I think if its the desire of the desighners not to simplify it I wouldnt realy want to argue it but since none have stood out and said no I would like to keep talking about it. I do hope to get good at commanding, I am reading guides right now and hope to get some practice with some willing victims ( maybe anyone reading this could help? I prefer servers in the southern US for lower lag ).
I am also gessing you or they might be afraid of unbalanceing due to faster more intelligent comming. If its the worst case and marines become super efficient, it opens a whole new avenue of alien balanceing methods I dont have the answers for that, but I am sure others do.
I think Ultimately I would like the comm to have more time for strategy and less time to have to do tasks wich can be done in better ways, this is probably going to be the over all emphesis of this thread

Your right, I wouldnt want that either, comms should have the power to silence requests from players who are just being pests or else they earn points or have points or lose points to request from comm I would hope it would not be res and more like the CO system also you could put people on a time limit per request the're are other options better then the ones I have probably explored so feel free to suggest your own.

once again great replys please keep the flames out of this thread and I will thank you very much

Commanding is supposed to be tough...

That being said, the idea of being able to mark where you'd like a TF or RT would be handy..
