Aliens need spikes back, as spores are only good against slow units, that are likly to stand in one place for ages. They were a decent ranged attack, which the aliens needed. The most damaging ranged attack that aliens get now is spit, from the gorge, which is slow moving and rubbish. The acid rocket isn't to bad, but its a hive 3 weapon. Any comments or flames or what?

Try playing on a server with spikes enabled. They are extremely overpowered, so if they were put back in, they'd need a huge nerf.
Spores are fine, because most of the times when they are most necessary are times when the marines need to stand in an area for an extended period of time (base defense, RT building, sieges, etc).
The aliens don't need decent ranged attacks. In fact, if they had any decent ranged attacks, they would be overpowered, because with gorges/DC/meta/regen/passive regen/hive healing and MCs/blink/leap/fly/celerity to make them move faster, only JPers would be able to catch and kill alien who is shooting from very far away. The aliens can stay at their max range hurting the marines, who have to spend 2 res on each medpack and 5 res on each welder, while the aliens heal for free and have the means to get away if they get in trouble.

In the dim and distant past, lerk snipers were a terrifying weapon. Combined with the chambers you could have a HMG lerk, sniper lerk, etc. Most worrying would be NEW spikes, which would be open to FOCUS.
A lot of people also lerked just because they liked to snipe marines. While fun for your K:D, this made you somewhat of a liability... camping the "right" vents instead of pressuring rines, killing nodes, umbraing the team, etc.

Hehe play on the Warmfuzzyland server as a lerk. One lerk can seriously injure or even permanently stop a HA train from moving through a certain hallway with spikes.

spores are meant to be used at choke points and faze gaetz.
spores are fine, spikes would be a little overpowering

aliens are meant to be melee attackers hence their fast speeds. and spore is enough a ranged attack to hinder marines

hihi brings back memoryes in eclipse hive when i was on that ramp overlooking the hive and that walkway over hive and killed atleast 3 HAs because i could single out the HAs running low on armour because they were staying back and trying to get welded.Yeh fun times but i dont think i want em back.Oh yeh and who can forget the lerks in some maps were 3 lerks were singeling out structures like armory and ips and actually killed em.

in 1.04 we NEEDED spikes cause lerks where the only thing available to take out TFs on one hive.
That time passed, we can evolve into anything now. I liked spikes, but still, great power indeed

Please no spikes back. I can’t see anymore the lerk noobs trying to kill a phase gate with their spikes for 10 minutes while their 2nd hive is under serious attack. Still remember a lerk trying to kill a phase gate at double res on mineshaft and constantly hearing the warning message “structure under attack”. After their 2nd hive was down I get really stressed of it and dropped 8 CC’s as cover for the phase gate freeing one HA from welding the phase gate all the time … 10 seconds later (till their last hive was going down) “Command Chair under attack” … sic!

I would hardly say "extremely", but if implemented as they currently are via the lerkspike plugin they would need to be nerfed a little.

They're the same as they were in 2.01, and no one complained about them being uber then (no one credible or intelligent, atleast.) People just ph33r the Lerk because they are too into the new Lerk tactics, and once Lerks revert to.. well, LERKING, they don't know how to deal with it. OMG ITS HIDING IN A VENT AND SHOOTING ME AAAAGHZ. PERHAPS UPGRADING TO W3 SHOTGUNS FIRST WAS A BAD IDEAZ!

Would these spikes come out of the hole in the head that the lerk would also presumably need?
Circle strafe the turrets and eat them to make a space. It's quicker and has a chance of working against marines not in a persistent vegatative state.
