FS having sorted my wireless connection (ty antichrist ) i am now getting "cl_flushentitypackets" and "kicked:reliabe channel overflowed" all over the place!

4 mins or less into a game (NS mostly) and ping soars to 3000 in a couple of seconds, then i either get kicked for it gives me an error message. One way i've found to avoid either is to tab out of NS and refresh the wireless networks available in the Intel Wireless yoke and then when i go back into the game i'm fine again for a while!

Any ideas??

my rate are default but i tried changing to 1500 70 45, which didnt make much difference. My ISP is Eircom and i have an Acer Travelmate 8003LMi, 1.6 centrino, 512 RAM, 64mb card. Windows XP SP2, with built in Intel Wireless card.

Really annoying cause it worked b4 i had to reinstall windows.

I've tried updating firmware on the router, its a Belkin ADSL 54g router with built in modem, and the wireless card drivers to no effect sad-fix.gif

plz help!

Thanks

Ronan.

hmm..not true at all though...wireless-g is fine with games, and if you know what you're doing, even wireless-b is fine

While you are in the game hit the ~ key to open your console and then type:

rate 9999
cl_cmdrate 30
cl_updaterate 30

See if that makes a difference.

I think its got something to do with the windows wireless zero configuration service trying to help by finding a stronger connection every once in a while, but creating ping spikes in the process. Have you tried disabling it?

Adding on to Unsong's suggestion - try looking for the manufacturer's wireless configuration utility or find a way to force Windows to keep the wireless network locked. I'd strongly suggest you just stick with ethernet cables for gaming purposes.

That is the problem, i had to do that with my wireless card, every 20 seconds or so it would disconnect for a second, really annoying. Just disable the microsoft wireless configuration service. Put in the cd that came with your card, explore it, and look for a folder called "utility" or something and install.
