I wanna know if I am doing this right, because I don't wanna waste time practicing something that isn't right...
Is this a decent bunnyhop (no. answered myself

) and what should I do to improve it?

Practice on a map like ns_bhop (can be downloaded from nslearn.org), and set sv_cheats 1, and cl_showspeed 1 in console. Hold crouch and a good bhop should get you to the maximal ground speed of 500 in a few hops (as a basic skulk). Gorge is easier to practice with first imo, because you see the movements and increase in speed much better. I think the max groundspeed for a bunnyhopping gorge is just over 400. For a detailed theory of bhopping see

For the basics there's a good article on nslearn.org.

You seem to have the timing and basic motions down. Some suggestions:
- Try to avoid coordinating the strafeturning with the jumping, at least to some extent. This will really help you bunnyhop in tight areas without hitting walls, as you won't have to wait to land before changing your direction of turn. It does, however, require a significant amount of practice to muster the coordination to do this without difficulty.
- Start your bunnyhop with a glidejump.

OK thanks to both of you
What is a glidejump?

Why is gorge any diffrent?
All aliens gain the same ratio of speed.

Since gorge is usually slow if you bhop right you can easily see how much faster you're going. And the gorge's "mouth" points in the direction you're facing so you can see how you're turning. Plus the gorge is easier to control than skulk. I don't know, I just think it's easier to practice bunnyhopping with gorge.

I think it's easier as a gorge as you don't have to hold crouch all the time, so that's one finger free.

Too lazy to explain it again, so I'll quote myself from another post:
| QUOTE (a civilian @ Feb 28 2005, 08:05 AM) |
| To initiate a bunnyhop, you usually want to start with a so-called "glidejump". To do this, hold forward and a strafe key, and turn (move the mouse) in the direction that you're strafing. This will increase your speed. Next, after reaching a good speed, jump. To get a good speed, you'll need to experiment with different turn rates and distances. (To see your speed, set cl_showspeed to 1. Note that this will require sv_cheats 1.) |
