i saw this topic on lan partys, so i decided to post this topic on a lan party hacker here.

I was on msn and one of me friends told me to go to this site
http://www.putfile.com/media.php?n=lanpartycheater and its about a hacker that decided to hack at a lan party and just watch it to see what happens.

even though cheating=evil/impure/filthy people, the killing of the computer might have been a little overboard

That, and that video could be the assailant's undoing. He could easily take them to court for that.
I agree with everyone here, cheating is bad mkay, but that tossing that guy on his head, and destroying his computer was draconic.
I hope those guys do some jail time.
On on a second, while I wrote the first, I was thinking about the other side of the coin. This was a tournament right?
I wonder if, and how much money they were playing for. I've heard of winning teams from large touney's taking home tens of thousands of dollars.
I then think of what would happen if someone was caught cheating in high-stakes game at a casino, or the poker championships.
Then I think of people being left for dead in the desert.

That's just the same old fake video that's been floating around the interweb for years though isn't it?

Ooh. Harsh...
I saw this quite a while back; and I've heard that maybe it's fake?
But I really do hate cheaters.

Its inherently fake, as no company could behave like that. For a start, they had no real evidence. A professional LAN company would say "Step back and let us see your PC" and then take over the computer before the player had a chance to kill any cheats. They would then check the machine over. At that point, they may well ask him to leave, but they would not destroy his equipment, as the player would sue, and win, for destruction of property.
Its a nice idea, but I don't think its a good idea to let people think this kind of thing happens.

he wasn't dipped, he was just picked up and placed down, however his computer did get chucked. But the person who threw it didn't have a good facial take so the video is worthless in court.
but yeah, link has a good point

Person with videocam: I know let's make a video where some guy is caught hacking and has his computer destroyed and post it on the internet to see if an idiot thinks it's real
Person with old computer he wants to get rid of: OK

If you pay close attention to the video, the alleged 'hacker' was chucked right on top of his head!

Its pretty funny to watch, although something tells me that it might have been staged.

It is ineed fake...nobody is stupid enough to do that stuff and not worry about the cops. And seriously, who would h4x at a LAN and NOT expect to get caught....
