I know it was left out for B5 accidently or something, so whats the deal with rebirth? is it back in for b6 or anything? I always loved playing it, and was one of my favorite CO maps.
Once_Only
I thought it was removed because of the horrible lag?
BulletHead
rebirth sucked...

it had a couple of really bad errors that made any machine with less than a 9600 pro vid card just up and DIE...
Xyth
Was one of the best looking maps IMO. The brush work was fantastic.
brute_force
I think both the lag and an exploit lead to its' removal. It's what I've heard anyhow.
carioca
biggrin-fix.gif gameplay.
marines defeding and aliens rushing, the unique co_map when marines defende and aliens rush to win ^^, try found any oficial co with the feature defending for marines, you won't see.
Jezpuh
It was good looking, but I think it got removed because of the lag.
Crispy
Well I'm sure it would have been left in if the mapper had made an effort to rework its faults. The fact that it's left out leads me to think that its creator had neither the time nor the inclination to rework it. Pity really, I liked the map theme, but there were some really bad brushwrok errors and leaks, all of which just reinforces the fact that a map has to play well to deserve a spot in the official map pack.
BigD
I liked that map. sad-fix.gif

And what's up with maps causing people to lag? Rebirth never hurt my TNT2 and Altair has only once caused a hit on my fps once... confused-fix.gif

*oops, sorry*

IAN its creator doesn't use Hammer anymore ; he is off mapping, seems. And so he didn't rebuild the parts where ppl were lagging (caused by 1 level top of another and -mainly- their respective 2 info entities). That's why rebirth isn't official anymore.

But i like the alien's rush too smile-fix.gif

I love co_rebirth... and I always pinged fine on it? :s And never suffered any serious drop in FPS (considering I'm running 70-80fps now on my geforce 5200 fx)
obuh
Rebirth was a nice map. Sad to see it go.

How the hell...?

Main problems I had with rebirth are Lag issues, and the fact that the hive was hard as hell to defend. That and always getting stuck when I went onos >.<
Depot
I'm running co_rebirth on my server right now, and haven't received any complaints on lag. The only problem I recall was in tournamentmode aliens could spawn in the marine base on occasion.

I think they threw that reasoning out the window a long time ago.

thats why the M-map is noones favourite. why would somebody want to change maps although the gameplay was ok? why should anyone change a map that doesnt play well? seems to me like randomness biggrin-fix.gif

btw I liked the style of rebirth but there were some errors that hadnt been fun. but I never liked the layout, sorry.

I'm guessing Devs have the .rmf as they did introduce a little while ago with providing BSP + RMF because of things such as the lost Nancy RMF, which the community kindly recreated. Along with Bast.
