UGL has delved into the European NS community by popular demand. With 16 teams activated already we expect to go live on Sunday January 16th. We boast European Admins and an IRC channel on Quakenet, #ugl-nseuro.

Visit our website here, or stop by IRC and see us. wink-fix.gif

In other words, use an aimbot or wallhacks? I'm sure they're prohibited. wink-fix.gif

The jokes getting old you know. I'm pretty sure there are many teams in CAL that are prety crappy as well, especially some of the newer ones. You should judge teams indicidually, not judge a whole league by rumors and hearsay.

Yeah, if you do so you might get banned for cheats.

Nah, but UGL has got some serious bad reputation. I have no clue if its well deserved or not - but maybe all us clans should give UGL a second chance? Might be a nice substitute/addition to CAL.

Some of it is, most of it is not. It was a learning experience. Regardless, it's water over the damn and this new league was created only because there was a demand for it. I've got 2 great European Admins working for me that will run the show. Thanks for your support. wink-fix.gif

We'd also like to get our Combat League going again (not to open another can of worms) as I feel there's a demand for it, and none exist that I know of.
Zunni
Yep, I've thrown my issues with UGL away after a nice long talk with Larry..

GL with this Larry, and let me know if I can do anything to help (like promoting this on the front page as some point)
LarryC
@Zunni: Thanks for the support, seriously. Since you mentioned it, I submitted a link on the Community Page and it hasn't appeared yet, so either it's awaiting approval or I did it wrong. Let me know please.

If you could put a word in for us to Amped News, that would help also. Last time I talked to them they wouldn't promote any league other than CAL.

You won't be getting any American coverage for a European league, that's for
sure. As of right now, I'm the only European Amped NS writer, and my schedule is
too swamped to fit in another league to cover, even though I may consider
covering certain parts of the league if you manage to handle it well.

And no offence, but your no HLTV spectating policy is not only nonsensicle and
pointless, but it also stifles interest for matches in your league. What's the point of
writing predictions for matches no-one will ever see? And don't give the arguement
that you can watch demos after the match, because it's not the same thing at all.
coris
Having a no HLTV rule is just retarded since you can set the HLTV delay to say 2-3 minutes anyway (2 minutes is the default setting?) so ghosting / spechacking wont be an issue.

Lump
i had a nice talk with larry and thats changed.

[19:57] <UGL|LarryC> UGL has decided to allow spectators on HLTV as long as an Admin or Intern can verify it's 90 second delay prior to match time

should help. <3 your coverage still Fana *mwuah*
fanatic
Wow. Figures this would happen just minutes after I sent an e-mail to all the
participating clans' CLs asking them to e-mail larry and tell him to change the rules.

Oh well.

Good thing they were changed though. wink-fix.gif
LarryC
The HLTV rule has been amended, no problem whatsoever.

2.50 HLTV
  • The use of HLTV is optional. UGL will allow spectators on HLTV only if an Admin or Intern can verify the 90 second delay (required) prior to match start.
If there are any other rules/policies/procedures you would like to discuss, stop by IRC and catch me live. We really want this to work for all of you. wink-fix.gif

Any coverage at all would be appreciated. This is all about the community. smile-fix.gif

With 20 teams activated, it's entirely feasible for us to open a Main Division in order to create more parity.
We only need a couple of more teams to do this, so sign up now and you can still make the regular season. wink-fix.gif

The league was created only 3 weeks ago, so we're still screening applicants for Admin.
The team list has grown to 20, and new teams get activated nearly every day. As noted we will have a Main Division shortly.

UGL doesn't use the referree system, so 15 referees and another half dozen staff aren't necessary.
If you're interested in applying, view this webpage. wink-fix.gif

ZiGGy doesn't help, he just complains. He's like the Duracell bunny, only about three thousand times as annoying and pathetic.

But to add some actual content to this, I hope you're prepared for the mass of
folding clans that's going to happen sooner or later, Larry. You'd be lucky if 12/20
original clans are still competing by the time the league's finished.

That remains to be seen, but here's how it's going to work: once we have 22 teams, we will enable the Main Division to create parity. The top ten ranked (by our standings) Open teams will be moved to Main, retaining their record. At ALL times throughout the season we will maintain 10 teams in the Main Division once it's created. This means if a Main team drops the top ranked Open team automatically moves up (in case of two teams vying for one slot, our decision is final). This not only has the better teams playing better teams, it rewards the Open teams who stay with us.
