Okay, here's an idea: Commanders should have field commanders. This doesn't require anything (patch wise), just communication. A commander needs to be able to know what is happening in the field to be able to command effectively, and so he has to get intelligence from his field commanders. They should lead squads of 3-4 men, call in ammo and health drops, and just generally contribute to team strategy. With this kind of teamwork going on, the average commander will ahve a much easier time because he will have assistants doing some of his work for him. I dunno, it sounds like a good idea to me, what do you guys think? Anyone tried to be a field commander / squad leader?

Usually when an group of soldiers attacks or is attacked, I follow their movement and drop ammo and health whenever they need it.

I don't think you need a field commander, but if they work in groups, it's all for the good. Just tell 3 volunteers to go to someplace in the spawn and then waypoint them on a mission.

Yes, you do need a field commander.
Someone that you follow, and someone whom you take orders from. And he takes orders from the commander. Never scatter from him.
Any good field commander is someone who uses the voice com (and can be heard clearly). I found a player who was awsome at this. It's always fun to play with him. At both sides.

This mod is too fast passed to need field commanders, the maps are too small, and drawbacks of dying are realy just a couple of seconds.
Field commanders in WWIIonline are a good idea, because it is the opposite of the above points.

Yea, it helps to have a couple marines as the NCOS of the group but unless your in a 32 person server you really don't have the man power to worry about it. You tend to have 2 - 3 squads normally of about 3-5 men anyways so. Keep your men together...know the names of the good ones with mics so you can communicate clearly with them. Once again, alot of the time as a commander...your just as a glorified babysitter.
