As I've had to start using D3D to prevent the console crash issue I've noticed something in tanith, the doorway areas in the marine start are displaying strangely, I believe there may be two brushes in each location fighting over the display, though I'm not sure.

This does not seem to show in OpenGL mode, only when running in D3D. Haven't managed to locate this effect anywhere else yet.

Could I have a few people check this?

The creator used two identical brushes, rotated 90 degrees. Thats why the dark spot has symmetry. If you look at the corners of the wall you can see the brushes are the same. The angles from vertical/horizontal and what-not.

I noticed this a few times when i played with D3D a while back. I just use opengl now and it's all cool!

Ill add it to the queue, suggest it goes as a minor one for an (eventual) revision of tanith. Don't expect anything, I believe the creator has "sold out" and become a worker in the games industry wink-fix.gif I think he isn't allowed to do that kind of work in his spare time, and who can blame the company for saying that. Its like hiring da Vinci to be your painter just to find out he's doing sidewalk art for free in his pastime!
