I've found that most of the time if I don't jump while releasing babblers as a gorge, that my energy gets used, but they don't appear (at least on my screen.) Any idea why this is?

They appear at a spot directly in front of you. If you're looking down, they're appearing in the ground. So look up when firing.

Do you mean look at the ceiling? Because I too have to jump then release a babbler in order for it to show on my screen. Standing on a flat surface looking straight ahead and firing, uses energy, but no babbler ever shows up.

Yea, I know what you all are talking about. I'm assuming that it's similiar to the Fade's Blink movement. You need to be looking up (about 30 deg works for me) and your Skulks will show up.
Also, a word of caution: dont try using the babblers while you're standing on a incline/ramp of any type. No matter what, you'll just waste your energy and you'll never get any Skulks. Now, as if that wernt bad enough, any change in the level of the floor (switching over to a ramp or stairs) acts as a wall that the Skulks cant go up. Kinda limits their effectivness but it's still a nice little ability.
