I recetly install windows xp service pack 2, hearing that it makes your computer better.
it made my comp a litte bit faster BUT when i play NS and join a game i can see nothing then i press esc and i can see iam in the RR but cant move, then i go back into game by pressing esc move around but my veiw does not change!!!

So i press esc again and it changes! once i found this problem i decided to switch video modes to see if it would fix it so i switched to D3D and when it restarted i could see nothing!! its jus a black screen!

But i no NS is running cause when i run my mouse over the place where theres Server, Exit and all that i hear the sound.. i can click em but i cant do anything cause i cant see it!!!


this is what it looks like when i move my mouse to bottem left corner i can hear it.. and i can also hear the music. I think the only way to fix this problem is to change my video mode outa game which i dunno how, then i got the other problem

This problem only started when i installed windows xp service pack 2 and i have no idea how to switch back to opengl if i cant see nothing =[

your first problem is caused by pressing ALT-TAB to another program while you're connecting to a server. only way to fix is to restart ns. dont know about the second problem

i have not alt-tabbed outa the game... as i said u can still hear the music and when i scroll over where the buttons are i hear the sound

Did NS run before you installed SP2? If it did you might just want to uninstall it. SP2 has the unpleasant habit of breaking thinkgs. =/

it did work before i installed it
so all i should do is reinstall

I would simply uninstall it from the Add/Remove Programs option in the control panel. See if that fixes your problem.

No, just uninstall it so you are back to SP1.

oh, how do i uninstall.. i relly dont wana do this cause it has improoved my pc a bit =[ any other options

Have you upated your drivers? (video card, BIOS, etc?)
