Ok no other game is causing this problem except NS, basically while im playing my pc will just suddenly restart without warning, then after it has booted back up it will say Windows has recovered from a critical error window.

Ive tried reinstalling NS ive tried removing all traces of steam and hl and reinstalled from scratch but still get it. Ive ran adware scanned for Viruses. Can anyone help me?

System Specs:

Windows XP (Fully Updated)
3000+ AMD Athlon xp
256meg Radeon 9800pro (Sapphire) (using latest Omega Drivers)
1 Gig DDRRAm 400Mhz
160 Gig Maxtor HDD, (installed on this drive as well as Operating system)
35 Gig HDD
Daedalus
I had a similar problem but I can't find the thread I made about it. Anyway, right click on My Computer, click the Advanced tab, then click a button that's something like "Startup and recovery". Untick automatically reboot.

Now instead of restarting, your computer will display a blue screen which will show the file that is causing the trouble. For me it was my sound drivers and a quick upgrade fixed the problems I was having. Hopefully your problem is also as simple smile-fix.gif

1) Service pack 2 is nothing but trouble (if you have an option to reformat back to 1 then do so)
2) yah, BSoD. Update/roll back drivers and you should be good

I have had no problems with SP2.

If you're still having problems, jot down the relevant information from the BSoD (XP BSoDs typically have a text string tied to them now, making troubleshooting easier).

If it's tied to a specific .dll or other system file, do a google on it if you don't know what it is. after you identify it, you should be able to proceed with obvious fixes (as previously stated, updating drivers, etc).

you shouldn't uninstall SP2 because someone else has had problems with it, unless you're sure the problem is related to SP2 and there are no other solutions.
