And if you have seen two colliding early rushes what happened. I only saw it twice in 2.01 and the shotgunners beat the skulk blitz one game, and the gorge rush beat the shotgunners the other. (that early lerk probably helped in the second scenerio)

Have any of you guys ever seen a shotgun rush colliding with a skulk blitz or gorge rush before?

Yeah. I was just playing in voogru's #1 and everyone was hunting in packs and organizing rushes the entire game. It really is cool when you see 5 skulks run into 5 marines. But a shotgun rush? Shotgun rush should beat gorge rush and skulk rush easy. Only a fade/onos/lerk would be able to stop a good shotgun rush. Good shotgunners will always stand so there is enough time so they can hit a skulk before he gets them.

You could turn this sort of thing in to something for the fan-fiction forum

hahaha never came across the scenario, but i would imagine that the marines would just trample on the aliens?

I ran a shotgun rush last night, 9 marines. Right outside marine start they ran into about 8 skulks waiting above the doorway. Good lord the slaughter. I hopped out the chair and killled 5 skulks that made it in.

only small early game rushes like 5 marines vs 5 skulks.

think about the topo-c12-double crossroad in veil. that spot is a hell if aliens get pipe.

although i doubt it qualifies as a rush.

When a proper rush hits a proper rush, it all goes out the window.

You're talking two groups of players who are dedicated to getting to the other base and have their game faces on. So when the round a corner and bounce into each other, its absolutely nuts.


I rather like these situations on FF servers, because most of the kills are from your own side. It goes a bit like the failed Marine rescue in Aliens.

a full team of marines moving to a relocation spot running into a pack of like 6 early game roving skulks or a platoon of battle gorges....Happens a good amount on lost
