Hey, i have been trying to set up my own dedicated server, mainly because i want to know how it's done, im sure by now i would have done it if i had a straight connection to my isp, but as i connect through a router it gets complicated sad-fix.gif.

Right so i have my dedicated server files up and i can run a dedicated server, but the problem is my server is sent to the auth servers as my internal server (192.168.0.3) and from what i've read it needs to be sent as my external ip address of the router, which can be seen by people on the net. I have set up port forwarding for this but i dont know how to get my server authed as the external ip and not the internal ip address.

Anyone know how to do this? i would greatly appreciate any help.

p.s. i tried setting +ip <external ip> etc but it gives an error WSAEADDRINUSE and could not allocate dedicated server ip.

You're right, you can't expect the server to bind to an IP that's not really on the internal box.

Try adding:

ip externaliphere
port 27015

to the server.cfg
