Hi, i got this problem where if the opposing team( the whole team or just one) walks across my screen, the whole thing just freezes but i dont disconnect or anything. Sometimes my teamates would kill em and i would stop lagging.

I have a ATi radeon 9500 with latest drivers
Athlon 2800
512 ram
XP proffesional

what is causing this ? please help me! btw what am i hearing about all these rates and stuff? cmd_rate??upderate what is that?

Check your Steam internet setttings

make sure your setting matches your speed

Steam main window -> Settings -> Internet tab
