how about a feature where gorges can decide what funktion a chamber has at all the palyers nearby...

e.g. a def chamb heals all the time.. but how about an option where gorges can change it to cara or redempption
movs could give speed ore silence instead of adrenalin
sens instead of cloaking scent or focus...

but only pudgy.gif are able to change this option... but not only when the chamber is built... anytime... as basic (if not changed) can be used the known thing...

well ideas ok but what if ur an onos attacking the base and some gorge u got mad decided to change the def chambers healing u to givng u more adrenalin so u die this could easyly be abused

It would also be time consuming going over to 3-4 DC's and changing their abilities..

It's an interesting idea though.

aliens already have the same toweer and bouldings as the mariens making one be able to give the near by aliens ablitys is way too over powed in my opion

well, maybe you could make it when Ds have cara, they give nearby chambers a slight boost in hp or something.

or, even better yet on that idea, MCs could give OCs a faster RoF or something.

This actually has been in a previous ns version.

I think it was removed for balance; but I'd still like to see MC as a 1st chamber more often, so I want it back. sad-fix.gif (Compromise to unchaining the chambers, but that's another story.)

Not too sure about the changing abilities though. What would happen when someone with the carapace upgrade stood next to dcs set to give carapace? For that matter, what happens if they take damage and walk away? Sudden health fall? :s

How would you change the MC effect ? +using them teleports you to the hive...

This change would favor sensories for sure. Imagine a 2 sensory chambers set , one cloaking , the other giving focus that would stack with the skulk's focus upgrade. That would teach marines to use scan tounge.gif

They also give aliens adren at an increased rate when you're near them. Useful for bilebombing or acid rocketing or just biting infinitely. So instead of this, the gorge could change it so that it makes all aliens faster, or silenced. Very useful early game, imo. A line of mcs, all set to celerity, making a sort of "alien highway" so aliens can move between chokepoints faster. Add in celerity and leap, and you almost have alien phase gates tounge.gif

if they change it at will, how would +use still move gorgies to the hives?

well.. it migght be an extra key ...


u could change this optiobn at any time after the chamb is built not only direktly after u planted it...


and i know that on public it might cous problems when some stoned noob gorg changes the option at all chambers to a useless one..

but it would be interesting if e.g. a sens doenst give cloak all the time ... some sense of fear or focus when the hive is under attack migth be more useful...
and the strength of focus or the cloaking time? i.d. like th upodates when u got 1, 2 or 3 chambs around u with the same ability activated...

problem: 8 chambs at the hive... 3 with regen, 3 with cara and 2 with redem... invincible defenders/hive tounge.gif
it might can be solved...

How about the Reload key? It's not used ever for aliens, so using it as a "bring up chamber menu" key would work just fine methinks.

Yeah, I mean if your a gorge you're just gonna be sitting there saving res for something most of the time, its not like perma gorge is a on the go 100% action filled role.
