Putting together a pack of sounds and models for Natural selection based off of the movie 'The thing'. Almost 1000 sounds in a bank already waiting to be transfered. Just need help modeling and stuff. Not good at it on my own, spent 6 years learning and building in worldcraft already smile-fix.gif . Anyone like to heed the call?

post here or leave me a message (AIM SN: DeaditeGrunt)

Like the idea, looking forward to it. smile-fix.gif

Out of interest, where did you get the sounds from? did you 'rip' them straight from the film? or maybe the game?

I'm sooo looking forward to the models, thats for sure wink-fix.gif

edit - welcome to the forums wink-fix.gif

Abit of both, i believe. I have alot of sounds from the games, but also of 'direct' sounds from the movie. Thanks for the welcome. Something i forgot to mention too was that i also planned to make a map of the arctic outpost they were stationed in. It would add an unhealthy twist, if you ask me. smile-fix.gif .

on a note for the models, I've got alot of concepts all drawn up in my head. A basic "walker", or "Man-sized" Thing mutation for the fade, and maybe a variation of the dog thing for the onos. The little skuddling head from the movie would also be an interesting site to see running down the corridors of an NS level too. (head for the skulk).

I'm totally stoked. Animations are a need. Models are a need. And abit of love for the movie is required too smile-fix.gif. Contact me if you guys want to really work on it. I'm just hanging out throwing sounds together and converting them.

well I just got the "The Thing" game (was on the cover CD of a gaming mag) so maybe I can rip the model from it... If I can get them out somewhere sad-fix.gif

Now this is what i'm talking about. Once we have a way of getting those models out and working it will be a cinch. if i remember correctly, we can extract material straight from the packs the game had. They open with winrar, i think.
Brimstone
This is probably a good place to start...

Might be able to contact him too...

Evidently, I was wrong about UT'99, but try those...
