alien themed resource/energy bars, hiveinfo sprite (with optional
queen sprite replacement), combat experience bars, and alien upgrade menu. the resource bar has been reworked (fixed blue palette issues) since the last release, so please update any existing sprites accordingly.
i recommend using this pack in conjunction with
necrosis'
aliens v_model pack, and
marr's
aliens sound replacement pack.

Looking great.
One thing that bothers me is the symmetrical look of the rine XP bar.

Looks awesome, but 1 suggestion. For the HUD selection, make the cursor a facehugger. Just fits the theme even more.

...with the exception of the queen hiveinfo sprite, which was created by Mercatorn, and the small tahoma font, done by Droggog.
@waffles: i'd like to do that eventually; finding time is the main problem.

Woah...it...looks...good!
But I have to agree with Obst is the symmetric look of the rin XP Bar. But that's easy to fix (at least for me it is

EDIT : I take back what I said. I forgot that NS handles sprites a little more differently....

I like it. Except the yellow line connecting the menu in the middle doesnt fit IMO

@bigbull: you're right. i hate that damn line too. however, you'll notice i've included replacements for them in case sprite-based connectors are ever re·enabled(?). on the other hand, my connectors are black and white spinal columns, so i'm not sure how good they'd look now that i've seen how NS colors the various nodes as you downstep through the menus...

I'm not sure if this one looks better or not. Depends on your tastes

And of course, I need to get permission from l0tus to release. After all, no permission == no release.
Also keep in mind that I haven't been in the spriting business for about 2 years so....in case I release this and there are any bugs, sue me

Anyway...onto the modified marine XP bar....

Mirror it vertically and horizontally, then it would look better IMHO.

Keep in mind that I has to flip back the exp bars inside the bar (irony!) because it didn't look too good when I just flipped it over....
And this one has a few improvisions. I really have to say that l0tus does do fine work with his sprites.

EDIT : I would start my own thread...but uh...I don't know. I have this feeling that making a new thread would not be too good....

Which sprite would I use just for the alien popup menu? The rest of it looks nice but I try to keep as much stuff default as possible, but that popup menu is just too sexy.

aliennode.spr, though i would recommend using the small tahoma font (font_arial*.*) as well.

Good stuff. I wonder if you've tried downloading the other Aliens sprite pack, the one with upgrade icons and custom pointer thingy?

I didnt see it written in any posts here, but the text is so small now (i use 1024x768 in NS) did you mkae this for 640x480? because its really hard to read stuff now!

the text is a seperate file. you don't have to use it to use the HUD; i just recommend it. if you prefer the default, dont install the font*.* files. if you already have, go get the default file pack from
NSArmslab.com, copy your HL.exe into a new directory, and install that default file pack there. then, copy the default font files (font_arial, etc.) back into your sprites directory.
