Hello all, me and my mate threw this together and I think it would make a pretty deceny HMG. I'm currently too busy with school, courses and other stuff to get round to this. Can anyone else make it?

HellspawnUK

Oh god don't get it started again. ><

That and the uber gorge battle armor.
DragonMech
Why does it have 2 ammo belts?

Why does it have 2 ammo belts?

WELL, the emptied belt has to come out SOMEWHERE
DragonMech
Neither belt has empty shell casings - so that can't be it. And don't belts just break apart and fly away from the gun?

So the bullet's are twisted inside? Erm no.

Not to be mean but you fail like the French with machine gun design. (I can say that because I have friends that are french)

Bleh, we've still got the FAMAS-FELIN. biggrin-fix.gif

I'm assuming it's an uber-high ROF minigun (redundancy alert!), so it needs to be dual-fed?
Drfuzzy
A minigun/machinegun has 'links' usually, and they split apart like a seperate shell. Play firearms and you will know what im talking about.
Perdition
Perhaps and uber-futuristic minigun who fires from both the barrels that are currently at the top and bottom of the...barrels.

Top belt feeds the top chamber, bottom belt feeds the bottom chamber. Two barrels firing at once, over and over and over, really really fast.

ouch.. thats hot... youd like melt the gun

but then again the barrels are laced with nanites, thus making them invulnerable to heat.. and the bullets are nanites too thus making them not get hot...

edit: >_<

if they are nanites do they even need a muzzleflash or should they just float out of the barrel?

VLe!

the original idea was to have it loop under and through the port underneath so it was neater when firing, thus saving you having a huge belt hanging all over the place, and maybe it is unfeasable but this is the future, maybe it is possible due to greater engeneering to have a gun work like this
sheena_yanai
thats maybe pointless but with 7.62 NATO ammo and 3000 shots per minute, such a gun would produce a recoil of 150 lbs. (67.5 kgs.) average , and a peak recoil of 300 lbs. (135 kgs.) under sustained fire.. looks a pretty much for a regular marine (^_^)
