I cant seem to figure out how they arent on the build menu im sure if i knew how my team wouldnt lose as much.

They're under upgrades. Go left and then chose the upgrade type and instead of taking an upgrade that branches off just click on the upgrade type. Don't forget that each hive allow one type only.

try releasing the right mouse button when the claw is over the upgrade chamber type, eg "defense" when u have sufficient resources as a gorge
