Hey Guys I'm brand new here,

For some reason my NS isn't working properly in at least the Combat-type arenas. For the Marines, theres no problems, but for the Aliens I can't evolve into a new creature.

I can evolve all the alien skills and abilities, but no matter what "level" I have I can't evolve to the next creature. I've also assigned hotkeys to creature evolution but they've done nothing.

Am I missing something here? any ideas?

Just to add...

I can see the boxes, but they're grey'd out in the in-game menu as if I don't have the pre-requisites, even though I do. In combat I'm also missing the "gorge" creature on my menu, not sure if that means anything.

The Gorge is a valid creature in CO, being the only one that can heal the hive. That's why it's included; it's not an error.

Do you have more than one upgrade spare? Lerk takes 2, fade 3, etc.

Are you using hte correct NS version? There are known issues where older versions mess up the menu.

I'm sure you already know this, but you need to evolve through the menues sequentially, the same way you would if you were upgrading to shotgun with marines...

Just to confirm, what version of NS are you running? you mentioned not particularly wanting to upgrade to B5 the last time I talked to you, and in B5 this won't really be an issue any more, as all aleins evolve from the skulk as root.

If your problem is on B5 I have absolutly no idea, best I can offer is to email you my config script, which if your problem is a config problem, using my script should clean it up.

My guess:

You are playing Beta 1 on a Lan with bots, yes?
that is the only thing that would remove the gorge from your menu.

Start a game, type sv_cheats 1 in the con. then type givepoints a bunch of times in the con and see if you can evolve.

I'm playing on Normal STEAM Combat NS maps with real players. Thing is, for the Aliens I don't even have an upgrade to Gorge as an option. It's Lerk(1), Fade(2), and Onos(3). I know I should be able to evolve to gorge...every else can do it, but I don't even have the option on my menu.

My version is V3 Beta4a.

remove your ns folder and reinstall
