Hey does ns have vac ban yet. because i hate hacks.
No it doesn't. The best thing you can do in NS, for now at least, is find servers that require Cheating-Death.
On the other hand, if / when NS is officially supported by Steam, VAC will be included.
There was a lot of talk about NS being officially supported for 3.0's final release, but that was some months ago now, so what the situation is exactly, i've no idea. Also, as to VAC, i also seem to remember that a good time ago, the necessary changes for VAC inclusion were made by the NS devs and relevant code was sent to Valve (or something), but Valve didn't pull their fingers out and make the changes, but then again, that's just my hazy memory.

best way to detect hackers is to understand what hacks can/cant do.

There's a long much flamed thread of hacker demos in the Consti forums. Perhaps some will leak out when we decide which are suitable for full public disclosure.
General I-think-you-hack rule: If in doubt, shutup.

Best way to check hackers is by spectating, and if you think they hack, make a demo (type "record hacker" in the console without the " ") and put the hacker.dem on a forum.
Why hack in NS? You can get speed upgrades/"wallhack" upgrades/etc.
Most good pubs have admins around, or a way to call the admin.

Post in Gen at your peril; people have mixed feelings over accusing someone of hacking publically (whether you are correct or not.)

Cheating Death (CD) is a client side program that monitors activity between server and the ns dlls. Suspicious DLL hooks and other program interferences (cheats,) are discovered. On servers running the CD plugin this will result in an automatic kick/ban/announcement to other players. (Depending on the setup of the server.)
It's not widely used.
It's really hard to hack in NS. First you gotta find a hack that actually does something, like a wallhack for example. If you get it to work, then you're not really helping yourself any because the ns maps are rediculously huge, and wallhack only lets you see so far into the walls.
I don't even know if they make NS hacks. If they do, then lol... thats pathetic.
